Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. (Psalm 91:1-2).

Events of the recent weeks and days surely remind us that Jesus’ words describing the trouble that we will experience in this world are all too true. But especially in times of trouble like these, we will want always to remember the rest of what he told us: He has overcome the world. Our times are still in his hands. He will never leave us or forsake us. No matter how dark the days, he remains our light and salvation; whom (or what) shall we fear?

OUR ROOTS

De One Radio/ TV tells stories through music and talk shows to connect with people who shares similar experience as they get unanswered questions answered while the stories are being told.

All our stories uses the sweet melody of music, literature, theatre and poetry as a genesis for discussion around identity, untold histories, human rights and the power of story as an expression of who we are.

The show is shaped by the musicians, activists, historians, poets and passionate minds who grace the microphone each week to tell, share and represent their own voices, demonstrating that our cultural narrative and identity is not singular, but made up of many interweaving stories and sounds.

Sonically the show carries ancient wisdom and tradition through contemporary roots (hilife), afropop, reggae, hip hop and spoken word, paying respect to their role in allowing us to voice identity and cultivate culture.
