Today's devotion is based on Exodus 35:30, chapters 36-35, 1 Corinthians, and other scriptures. The story of the Tabernacle's creation begins with God's desire to dwell among His people, the Israelites. However, God cannot dwell just anywhere; He requires a sacred space. To address this need, God gifted Bezalel with the Spirit of Wisdom to create a Tabernacle where God could reside (Exodus 35:30-35).

In the Garden of Eden, God fellowshipped with Adam and Eve, but sin (disobedience) broke this fellowship (Genesis 3:8-10). The Tabernacle was designed to house God's presence, providing a sacred space for worship and communion.

The Bible teaches that we are now the Tabernacle (temple) of God (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:19-20). We are the house of God, designed and created to house His presence. This privilege is available only to those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior.

Recognizing that we are the temple of God should influence our choices and lifestyle. Just as the Tabernacle was sanctified and purified, we must strive to live holy lives, consecrated to God.

As the temple of God, we are also priests called to make holy offerings unto God (1 Peter 2:5, 9). The first offering is ourselves, and we know that anything offered to God must be holy (Romans 12:1-2). Jesus Christ has paid for our sins (John 3:16, Romans 5:8), but this doesn't exempt us from living righteous lives.

In conclusion, I want to remind you that we are the temple of God, created by Him to dwell within us (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). Let this consciousness guide our choices. For those who haven't come to know Christ, the door is always open, and Jesus is still calling (John 3:16, Revelation 3:20). May the Lord cause His word to dwell in you richly.

*Daily Scripture Refresher*

Today, my reflection is on 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and Luke 18:1:

- "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
- "Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not become discouraged" (Luke 18:1)

I want to talk about prayer as a means of communication and communing with God. Prayer is a personal and intimate connection with God.

Many believers fail to pray because they view prayer as merely a way to receive things from God. When they don't have specific requests, they don't pray. However, the reason God created us is for His pleasure, and He desires a relationship with us. We must pray because we love God and want a relationship with Him.

Imagine two people who have fallen in love. They can talk for hours without noticing the time. As they spend time together, they become intimate and deepen their relationship. Similarly, prayer deepens our relationship with God. We have been commanded to pray (Luke 18:1), and Jesus Himself prayed regularly, not because He needed something from God, but because He loved spending time with His Father.

Prayer is not primarily about getting things from God, although our needs are valid. Rather, prayer is about becoming intimate with God. We were created to be relational with God, not transactional. We must first become before we possess.

Prayerlessness is a declaration of independence from God, as Apostle Arome Osayi once said. If we view prayer from a relationship perspective, we will not give excuses for not praying. We must recognize God's personality and pray because we love Him and acknowledge Him as our Father.

Prayer will deepen your relationship with God. As you spend time with Him, His character will begin to reflect in your life. Prayer must first change you and mold you into God's man. The first proof that you pray is that your desires and character will begin to change to reflect the image of Christ.

You can't know someone you don't often spend time with. Since you don't spend time with God, you can't know God and His desires. To pause here, I want you to see prayer as a means of communing and deepening your relationship with God. Don't be prayerless. Jesus said we should pray always (Luke 18:1), which means prayer is obedience to God's Word.

I pray that the Lord will stir the desire for prayer within your heart.

*Walking in a manner worthy of your calling*

As I reflected on Ephesians 4:1-2, 17-32 (NASB), it reminds me that we all have a heavenly assignment. You have been called by God to fulfil a particular mandate of heaven on earth (NLT). Knowing that you have a heavenly mandate, the Scriptures say to walk in a manner worthy of your calling (Ephesians 4:1). There is a way God expects you to walk and live.

When you come to Christ, there is a manner of living that you must adopt, being conscious of your calling. In Ephesians 4:17-32, the Word of the Lord says that you and I should no longer walk like unbelievers. We have come into Christ, and there is a way heaven expects us to live.

Ephesians 4:19 (NASB) says, "and they, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecent behavior for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness." If we, as believers, continue to practice every kind of impurity (such as fornication, stealing, gossiping, lying, coveting, etc.) with greediness, then we do not know whom we have come to, nor the manner of living we have been called to.

We must get rid of our old selves, with its deceit and lust, and put on a new self, which is in the likeness of God, created in righteousness and holiness of truth (Ephesians 4:22-24). If you steal, do not steal anymore. If you fornicate, gossip, lie, or covet, stop doing these things. The way we speak and act should reflect the likeness of who we have become.

Darkness and light have nothing in common. Now that we have come to the light, let us walk and live like children of light. To conclude, we have been called by God to reflect Him in truth. Repent from sinful practices and live as a child of light. May the Lord help us to put off our old selves and walk in a manner worthy of our calling and the One who has called us.

*Walking in the newness of life*
As I reflected on Romans 6, I was reminded of Paul's words at the end of chapter 5, where he wrote that "where sin abounds, grace abounds more." In chapter 6, he asked a rhetorical question: "Should we continue in sin that grace may abound?" He emphatically replied, "God forbid!"

Whoever you yield yourself to and obey, you become a slave to. If someone becomes born again and continues in sin, they fail to recognize the sacrifice of Jesus. By doing so, they make the sacrifice of no effect in their life.

We are to walk in the newness of life, leaving behind the things from which we have been saved. If the Scriptures say you have been saved from sin and sin no longer has dominion over you, yet you are still yielding yourself to sin, sin will still ensnare and empower you.

The grace of God is not a license to sin but a power to help us live a life that honors God. We are to yield the fruit of holiness, not yielding our bodies to unrighteousness. The Scripture is clear on the matter of sin. Let's not argue with the Scriptures.

I want you to ask yourself one question: "Is the life I'm living now reflective of how Jesus lived?" No one should deceive you - sin is sin. Don't make the sacrifice of God of no effect in your life.

We are living in a dispensation where even Christians are embracing sin. Don't fall prey to the devil. Instead, maximize the grace of God to bear the fruit of the Spirit, rather than manifesting the works of the flesh.

I pray that the Lord, through His Spirit, will help you yield your members to righteousness.

There are times when we all have brought our
troubles on ourselves because we allow our emotions and
our feelings to govern us. Don’t do it. If your decisions
are based on feelings or simple impressions or emotions,
you will make yourself liable to great delusions.
