TODAY'S WORD

The first thing Andrew did after meeting Jesus was to tell his brother the good news. Were you as excited as Andrew to tell others when you first came to know Jesus? How about now? Sometimes, we lose that excitement over time. But with every answered prayer, every new beginning, God gives us an opportunity to reclaim- and proclaim- our excitement all over again.

PRAYER

God, it is a joy to know You. When I look back on our first meeting, I remember how I was amazed and overwhelmed by You. Thank You for continuing to show up in my life. Please use these moments to give me fresh eyes so that I may continue to be amazed by You, and continue to share You with others. In Jesus’ name, amen.

TODAY'S WORD

God is all-powerful, all-present, and all-knowing. We feel safe in His arms and are amazed by the beauty of nature. He tells the sun when to rise and when to set. He tells the seasons when it’s time to change and controls weathers patterns across the world. We stare in awe at the twinkling stars He placed in the evening sky. We are thankful for the bountiful earth He commissioned us to nurture and remain humbled by His power to create it. We will genuinely respect and admire His beautiful world.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, we are thankful for the beauty of the world You have gifted us, and we will make it a priority to nurture and respect Your creation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

Trials of life are numerous, and we must look upon them with joy. It’s challenging to remain joyful during burdensome seasons, but our hardships improve our walk with the Lord. When we experience loss, we become more appreciative of what we once had and see the blessings abounding in our lives. We benefit from hurting because it gives us the ability to empathize with those who experience the same struggle. Most importantly, trials allow us to place our trust in the Lord.

PRAYER

Dear God, we find it challenging to remain joyful in difficult seasons. We trust You because You only want good for us. Our faith will strengthen when we walk through storms together. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

Paul loves the Philippians and praises them for their obedience in his absence. Even though they have been saved by accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior, Paul directs them to continue living in the way God has established. Obeying God demonstrates our loyalty and faith in His instruction to stay away from sin. We accept Christ as our Lord and Savior and continue to live as an example of our salvation.

PRAYER

Dear God, we are loyal and have chosen to trust and obey Your Word. Please guide us as we strive to strengthen our faith and live as an example to others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

People of the early church were devoted to the apostle’s teachings and fellowship. Fellowship encourages unity and growth along with spiritual friendships. These friendships are treasures when we feel alone or need encouragement and guidance while carrying a heavy burden. We enjoy being unified with our church family and are thankful for the opportunity to praise the Lord together.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, we are grateful for our church family and the precious friends You’ve gifted us for good works and fellowship. We will continue to establish and maintain these treasured relationships. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

There are a variety of ways our bodies can be destroyed both physically and spiritually. We can be physically abusive by fighting or intentionally disregarding safety protocols. We speak hurtful words, gossip or lead others into sin, be it intentional or not. We know to treat our own body as a temple, and we must be sure to treat those around us the same. We will protect one another in all physical settings and build each other up spiritually.

PRAYER

Dear God, we value both the physical and spiritual bodies You have so delicately created. We will protect one another and work harder to build each other up spiritually. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

Our lives feel dark and void during seasons of sadness. We often struggle with emotions of fear or loneliness when dilemmas become overwhelming. It’s comforting to know God’s presence is consistent. His Spirit moves through our hearts, allowing us to regain hope in moments of hopelessness and light in seasons of darkness. Our Father’s love has been in existence since the very beginning and will follow with us to the end of time.

PRAYER

Dear God, thank you for continually moving within our lives to create awareness of your presence when we are troubled. You are a light in the darkness and our hope amid a broken world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

Correction, also known as instruction, is a key part of our lives. We will never know everything and there will always be people who will know better than we do. It is best for us to be humble in moments where we have gone wrong, and acknowledge the correction we need in order to make our errors right. If we choose to be proud, and adopt a know-it-all demeanor, we are only hurting ourselves.

PRAYER

Dear God, I know that there will be times in my life where I will make a number of mistakes. There will be times where the decisions I thought were right, will actually be wrong. Father, I ask for help to remain humble so that I can take correction from those around me May I be one to act on the correction I receive, so that I can avoid any unnecessary consequences. This I pray, in Jesus' name. Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

When we come to love the Lord Jesus Christ in truth, we become dead to the world and the world dead to us. The ways of the world no longer attract us, in our heart of hearts and new nature, at least; and the world has no love for what we are: Christ followers.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, your cross brings division in the world, between those who would follow you and those who run still after the world, the flesh, and the Devil. Crucify our carnal, sinful desires, taking out the stony heart and putting in its place a heart of flesh, sensitive to your leading. Let us say, "I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, " regardless of how the world may react. Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

The Church of God is compared to a human body, having many parts that all work together for a common purpose and are all under the control of the same head, that is, of Christ. All members of this spiritual body ought edify each other out of genuine love. That means being a positive influence by promoting that which serves to build us up in Christ, and doing it out of love for those we minister to.

PRAYER

O Head of the Church, which is your body, use each one of us, we pray, to edify one another. You would have us love one another; and if we truly love you, we know we will also you our brothers and sisters in Christ. Give us wisdom to know how to help each other to live more consistently for you. Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

Paul made it a point of duty to God to pray frequently for the Philippian believers and their infant, persecuted church. He was thankful to God for their conversion when he preached the Gospel among them, and he knew that God did not leave Philippi when he was forced to do so. Paul could pray in a spirit of joyfulness for these fellow Christians because he was confident (verse 6) that God would continually work in them a work of godliness until He perfected it on the Day of Christ (the Rapture and Resurrection of the dead in Christ, see 1 Thessalonians 4:17).

PRAYER

O Spirit of God, we know that you are at work in every believer's heart and life. We know that you take the things of Christ found in Scripture and show them to us and form the character of Christ within us. We ask in joy for what we know you will grant, that our fellowship with Christ and with one another will grow and increase by your power, as we faithfully lean on your Word and apply its truths to our lives. Amen.

TODAY'S WORD

What is our attitude when we approach God? Sometimes we come to Him broken, sorrowful, and repentant. Other times, we come fearful and hurting, weighed down by great need. But in all circumstances, we should come before Him with gratitude, for no matter our situation He welcomes us and receives us.

PRAYER

Lord, I come before You with a song of gratitude and praise. For You have opened the door of Your heavenly dwelling place to me. You have invited me in, given me Your ear. You have listened to my worries and my desires. You have forgiven my sins and mended my broken heart. So I praise You and thank You, Lord, for Your great love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

TODAY'S WORD

God calls us to be peace-loving people in all that we do. For in Him, we know eternal peace, and so He instructs us to sow peace with others. Where condemnation leads to wrath and discord, peace sown in love and mercy leads to the righteousness that comes only from God’s grace.

PRAYER

Father, thank You for reconciling me to You and filling me with Your peace. Teach me to cherish Your peace so that it may reside deep within me, and be evident in my words and actions. As I share Your peace with others, I pray that You might nurture those seeds and bring forth righteousness as You impart Your grace on others and draw me nearer to You, In Jesus’ name, amen.
