When DJ Anyaloko....the journalist interviewing 2Face Idibia asked him why he chose to marry Annie Idibia out of all the women in his life ?
He relaxed back on his sit, took a deep breathe in reflection and gently answered her with this:
“You see, Perro Adeniyi who gave birth to my first son graduated from a top UK University as a medical student and is now a doctor.

She is very beautiful and intelligent from a very wealthy family”. He continued “Sandra who gave birth to my other two kids is a dealer in expensive diamond and gold jewelries. She was already a multi-millionaire when I met her, she owns one of the most expensive houses in Banana Island. Her family too are very well to do”. He took another deep breathe and continued “Sumbo who gave birth to 2 kids for me is also a very intelligent first class Lawyer. She has worked on and won many big cases for so many wealthy men and women in this country and abroad, that’s how she made her money and she Too is very beautiful as well”.

Then with a loving gentle smile on his Face he took another deep breathe and said this “But you see Annie is from an average background like myself, we both started from nothing. She stuck by me through it all. When there was no car she hopped on bikes, took the bus and trekked with me, when there was no money or house or hit songs or or millions of albums sold or big awards and accolades, when I used to repeat just 3 sets of clothes, she would always hold my head, look into my eyes and tell me things will be fine one day. When I wasn’t handsome, she would call me her Prince Charming, when I wasn’t celebrated, she called me her KING and said she is my number one fan and to this day she still is. Even when I made it big as a musician and started misbehaving and controversies almost destroyed my career, she would go down on her knees and pray to God to show me the way and give me victory over my enemies.

Now if I was still that poor boy struggling to make it like every other young chap on the streets of Lagos, do you think a Doctor, a Lawyer and a multi-millionaire business woman will want to look at me twice or even have my kids? NO. So to answer your question, I didn’t chose who had more to offer me, I chose Annie because she offered me her all when we had very little”

15/04/2024

Around 2014, my marriage was going through some turbulent times, so I decided to get out of the marriage and start life all over again.
I went to see a lawyer to start the process of divorce immediately, and I decided that I will not allow anyone to talk me out of my decision; I’m done with this “bad” marriage.

The lawyer inquired of me whether there had been an effort by our church or family members to solve the problem. I told him I had never discussed my marriage issue with anyone not even my parents. I came into this marriage of my own accord so I’m opting out alone 😂😂🤣.
He said, “You can’t do that; you have to inform the family first and blah blah blah.” So finally, I decided to talk to my Pastor about it, and he called for a meeting between my husband and me.
During the meeting, I was thinking to myself, "Pastor, forget it, your plenty talk will not solve anything. I’m here because I want the court to know that at least we tried. 🤣🤣 My mind was made up."

Then after a week, I had an impression to seek the Lord for His view, I knew He would agree with me because I had told Him everything that my husband was not doing right. I was expecting a “leave immediately” answer from Him, because after all no good God will encourage you to be in this messy marriage where I believe I was not loved correctly.
There was no answer from God, but I kept asking “Lord, just let me know if you want me to stay or leave, and I will do whatever you tell me.”
I kept coming through morning devotion but no definite answer. Then after two years, He finally answered me in a dream, and I knew it was Him speaking to me. He said, “This is where I have planted you, and I have a purpose for you here.”
I decided to stay and fight for my marriage with God’s help and grace.
Immediately, I resolved to be where God has planted me. The turbulence, the rejection and the difficulty in my marriage turned around 180 degrees.
I knew something was working through my husband’s weaknesses to take me out of my place.

Three lessons:
1. In God’s wisdom, if He had answered me quickly, I wouldn’t have had the spiritual stamina to stand during the difficult moments because I had no secret place. So, He used the two years of consistent prayer life and the meditation of the Word to prepare me for the battle ahead. Prior to that, I had no consistent prayer life; my life was all about excelling in my career and looking good physically (madam life 🤣🤣). Please don’t stop praying when God is silent; He knows what He is doing.

2. Expect warfare when you decide to obey God. You fulfill destiny through obedience, so the enemy will do whatever he can to discourage you from pursuing it. He will use the people around you, including those you love, to frustrate you. Don’t lose hope, your obedience will expose all the pretenders around you, and you will know more about the devices of the enemy which will equip you for your next level. Also, don’t be bitter against those who wronged you, God can heal your soul.

3. Your success will depend on your intimacy with God. You need to turn back to God more frequently because many things will not make sense. You will need His Wisdom to navigate through them, His Grace to endure them, His Power to overcome them and His Strength to persevere.

In conclusion, you have the liberty to do whatever you want when you encounter challenges in your life, whether in your marriage, at the workplace, or in your relationships. But I bet you we mostly don’t know the right choice that will help us fulfill God’s destiny for our lives. That’s why most people regret their past decisions. I will humbly submit to you to seek the face of God for His direction, and please wait until He speaks because one decision can change your entire life. Proverbs 3:5-6.

Secondly, choosing to obey God is not for the fainthearted, but His Grace is sufficient for you. He will provide what you require when you need it; trust His process.
“For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭30‬ ‭NLT.‬‬

So, you definitely will bear some yokes and carry some burdens in following Him, but God is faithful. His faithfulness is experienced in obedience when we decide to stay where He has planted us.
