Greetings gang! If you haven't heard the news, our friends over at NEON RetroFest announced that the next NEON Retrofest will be on April 14th, 2023 in Tampa, Florida. For those who do not know, NEON Retrofest is a three-day retro festival that features movies, video games, and live performances from many of your favorite synthwave artists. While we haven't made any official plans yet, Nightride FM plans on having some type of presence at the festival. A Tribute to Dave Smith (1950 - 2022) https://nr.fm/tribute

Anyone who has listened to or created electronic music over the past 40+ years owes a great debt to Dave Smith's work, knowingly or not. Whether it be through his engineering advances in musical synthesis, the sound of the instruments he helped develop (Prophet-5, Korg Wavestation, Seer Systems Reality and more),

or via his leading role in inventing the MIDI protocol and then pushing its universal adoption.

After his sudden passing, members of our community thought it would be a nice idea to honour his selfless work by putting together a tribute compilation.

Submissions are to be sent here https://nr.fm/tribute and should be new songs in any genre, created with Dave and his contributions to music in mind, while highlighting the voice of one or more of the instruments he developed.

There will not be a hard time limit on submissions and the compilation will continue to grow with new entries appended to the Bandcamp release. Join our Discord community for more information https://discord.gg/synthwave

Nightride.FM is an independently owned and operated synthwave internet radio station. Our purpose is to deliver the best possible experience to our listeners, assist with the promotion of new and forward thinking artists in the synthwave community, and help move the entire synthwave genre forward as whole. 24/7 streaming music station. Our station never sleeps. Live IRC style chat room. Our radio station is built around a community of passionate fans and listeners. Our online chat experience does not require any signups or registration. Users can simply jump right into the conversation.

Streams are in 320kbps. Our streams use the best in streaming standards. Every song is properly normalized so everything sounds nice and clean.

Now- playing Metadata pushed over SSE. This means you will always know what is playing. Our metadata is also Bluetooth friendly allowing you always see what your listening to no matter where you go.

Mobile friendly experience. Because people are on the go, we make our radio to anyone, anywhere. No need to install an app. All you need to do is load up our station in a mobile browser and hit play. The tunes play on even when you shut off the screen.

Built in equalizer and old school visuals, including Mathbox and the much loved Milkdrop (from Winamp). Tweak your sound just the way you like it.
