Berlin-based DJ and producer Kat Davids crafts immersive musical journeys, drawing inspiration from Detroit’s depth, body-high Dub house, deep house, and dub techno. Whether holding an intimate club atmosphere or igniting festival dance floors, her sets are a blend of raw honesty and transformative energy. Kat's signature sound incorporates her own vocals, field recordings, intricate percussions, and driving basslines. Her 2023 releases, “Dust” on Intercept Records and “Haunted” on Tresor Records, set the stage for her upcoming LP in 2024, which features a remix by VRIL. Her performances have graced iconic venues like Tresor, Watergate, and Säule/Berghain, as well as global stages including Refuge Worldwide, Weltspiele Hannover, Operator Radio Amsterdam, AND Club Johannesburg, and Modular Cape Town. Festivals like Garbicz and Feel Festival have also been part of her repertoire. In October 2024, she embarks on a Mexico/Honduras tour, complemented by a DJ workshop. As a THF Radio Berlin host since 2022, Kat has welcomed over 30 esteemed guests, including Monty Luke and Sam Goku. She’s also the founder of the FLINTA* collective V.A. Cecilia Tosh is a Berlin-based artist and entrepreneur of German and Mozambican descent, known for her deep, groovy, and colorful sets inspired by Detroit and Dub Techno. A co-curator of "New Faces" at Tresor Berlin, she has also made a name for herself through her performances at iconic venues like Berghain and HÖR. Karachi-born DJ and producer Fahad Ahmad, known by his alias Measure Divide , has been a transformative force in the global techno scene. After touring internationally for eight years as part of a DJ/production duo, Fahad launched his solo career in 2012, establishing a distinctive voice in techno marked by intricate details, textured soundscapes, and playful yet intense arrangements. In tandem with his solo career, he founded FORMAT, an events brand that revived Toronto's techno scene over the past decade. The DifferentSound Podcast #313 welcomes DJ SHUFFLEMASTER! Tatsuya Kanamori quickly became one of the few Japanese techno producers to rise to worldwide prominence within the late 90's techno scene with his productions and remixes as DJ Shufflemaster. Originally a committed member of the Tokyo-based label Subvoice, where he released several of his early EPs, Kanamori's reputation outside of Japan was greatly aided by his affiliation with European techno heavyweights such as Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Ben Sims and Carl Lekebusch. It was no surprise that Berlin-based Tresor knocked on the door and offered Kanamori the opportunity to record her first full-length album. In 2001, he appeared via Tresor, a full-length LP packed with a string of dancefloor-oriented techno productions featuring Kanamori's trademark aesthetic, making him one of the first Japanese techno producers to achieve worldwide recognition.
