Happy October!

To get into the spooky spirit, we are running a Halloween History Writing Competition throughout this month, with the deadline as Halloween.

The theme is Supernatural Stories and Haunted Histories. We’d love to hear what historical articles you create with this theme in mind, whether it be the ghosts of York or the witches in Salem. Please interpret this theme as you see fit, as long as its part of history!

You do not need a York Historian membership to enter the competition, although it is encouraged that you purchase one if you wish to continue writing with the magazine :)

We will be publishing shortlisted articles and our favourites, as well as giving away some prizes!

We can’t wait to read your writing!

Hi guys, I am Italian born but British by adoption, metalhead, bookworm, yoga and gamer affectionate. Love to explore all things culture and archaeology and expend long times outside exploring new places.

Basically I am the person responsible to supervise the work of all the other editors. I also do the second draft reviews of your submitted articles to make sure that is all as should be with our guidelines and then publish it our online magazine website, where everyone can read it!
