It is the best feeling in the world, to be supporting so many local businesses in Norton.

Using social media is an amazing way to improve footfall and business revenue but when you're an independent business it can be a balancing act of running your business and running social media.

not only produces and manages content online. As an independent myself, I engage with local people, businesses, charities, and organisations as well as offering genuine engagement with audiences online.

One of the best examples of my work is Welovenorton. We ❤️ Norton Social media pages on Facebook and Instagram were created as part of Norton Business Group to increase the footfall on and support local and independent businesses. I took over this role back in June 2024 and can say that we have gone from strength to strength!

I have organically increased our following by nearly 500 new followers, our average monthly views on instagram currently sits at 34.6k views, and our top post currently has 64.8k views and it's still gowing!! 😀

After finishing University with a degree in Media and Communications my calling was to help small businesses reach their potential customers and audiences online. Never did I think I'd be supporting a whole highstreet of businesses and the surrounding area!

It has been a welcomed challenge and I've enjoyed getting out there, rolling my sleeves up and creating and sharing content on behalf of the businesses here.

My own personal pat on the back comes from somehow managing to achieve all of this whilst grieving, working as a telephone sales guide, being a Mum, a girlfriend, and occasionally struggling with my mental health! It's clear to see that being a creator is definitely where I'm supposed to be as it's just as much a part of me as everything else is. ❤️

As a volunteer with and , my aim was to increase the footfall into by supporting businesses on social media. My personal aim was to build a professional portfolio of work, to showcase, as I plan my own business venture.

I've loved photography and videography all of my life and in 2022 I qualified with a First Class Degree with Honours in Media and Communications at Teesside University.

Before qualification, I used to review places I had been by sharing the media I had captured whilst I was there and suddenly realised my reviews were actually doing really well!!

Now, I'd like to team up my skills and build a professional portfolio that offers my type of reviews for free!! My aim is to show local small businesses or community groups that a media presence is possible with limited kit and software and eventually move in to offering my own professional paid work. Currently volunteering for Welovenorton.
