What lovely news to kick the week off with!🥂

So exciting to find out we’re a finalist in the Community Champion category at the 2024 Business Awards 🙌🥳

We’ve always been proud to serve as a platform for local businesses, charities and groups to share their news and upcoming activities, and are dedicated to representing and amplifying diverse voices within our publications. We have featured articles from individuals in the LGBTQ+, disabled, neurodivergent, and BAME communities, ensuring that a wide range of perspectives are reflected in our content ❤️

In the past year we have supported over 40 local charities, non profits and CICs through free content, design and promotion, and will continue to promoting art & culture organisations across the West Midlands through our work with ARTEFACTS magazine.

It’s so humbling to be recognised for our hard work - now I just need to just keep the imposter syndrome at bay! 😆

Your logo is the cornerstone of your brand’s identity, so it’s important to get it right. Here are five essential tips to keep in mind when designing your logo:

1. Consider Limiting Your Colour Palette
When creating your logo, it’s a good idea to aim for no more than four solid colours, and avoid gradients. Why? If you ever need to print your logo - whether it’s for screen printing or embroidery -you’ll likely be charged per colour. Fewer colours can result in lower costs. Plus, gradients don’t translate well in printing and can appear muddy or inconsistent. Solid, bold colours work best for clear, professional results.

2. Get Your Logo as a Vector File
A vector file is a type of image that can be resized without losing quality. This means your logo can be as small as a social media icon or as large as a billboard, without becoming pixelated or distorted. Vector files are essential for both digital use and print, where a higher resolution (300dpi for printing) is required. Without a vector file, enlarging a smaller image can result in a blurry or low-quality logo, so be sure to ask for one! Already have a logo but need it in vector format? We can help you convert your existing logo into a scalable vector file.

3. Request a Transparent PNG Version
When using your logo on different backgrounds, a transparent PNG is your best friend. Logos with a white background often look unprofessional when placed on top of a coloured background. With a transparent PNG, you can seamlessly place your logo on any surface - whether it’s your website, a poster, or branded merchandise - without the unsightly box around it. If you already have a logo but need to remove the background, we can create a transparent PNG for you.

4. Create Different Logos for Different Applications
One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to logos. A logo that looks great on a website banner may not work as well in a social media profile picture or on a business card. Having multiple versions of your logo, such as a full logo for letterheads and a simplified version for smaller spaces, ensures your brand looks sharp and consistent across all platforms. We offer comprehensive branding packages tailored to your needs, from our 'All In' Branding Package to our 'Social Media' Branding Package and even our flexible 'Pick n Mix' Package for businesses that need different versions of existing logos. We can help fill the gaps in your branding identity!

5. Have a Black and White Version of Your Logo
Make sure to have a black-and-white version of your logo to ensure it stays clear and readable in any situation where colour printing isn’t available. This can be especially important for things like photocopying or newspapers. High-contrast designs in black and white ensure no details are lost, keeping your logo effective in any medium.

🌸SPRING IS ON THE WAY🌸

It certainly felt so this weekend while we’ve been distributing the magazines - and it made such a welcome change to have the sun shining as we drove all over the county ☀️☺️

We’ve made a huge dent in our magazine piles in the last 48hrs by covering Evesham, Pershore, Cropthorne, Droitwich Spa, Kidderminster, Hartlebury, Bransford, Powick, Malvern and The Tything - and I’ll be back at it tomorrow as I tackle Worcester City Centre 🤩

As usual - a huge thanks to all the local businesses who kindly agree to take copies of MyWorcestershire for their customers 🙌🏻 your support and kind words are always SO appreciated 💜

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and is feeling ready to take on the week ahead! 🫶

Love PB & J

🌟 £5000 raised for MNDA! 🌟

Back in September we designed, printed and published a fabulous cookbook, Margaret’s Cakes & Bakes, on behalf of Margaret Ainscough and a group of her friends, to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The charity cookbook is packed full of Margaret’s recipes, lovingly compiled by her friends now that Margaret (who suffers from MND) is no longer able to bake herself.

We worked closely with Margaret, her friends, taste testers and a talented illustrator over the summer to put together this beautiful book which has since sold over 500 copies!

Combined with the money raised through donations at the book launch, Margaret and Jan were able to present a cheque for £5000 to the Herefordshire and Worcestershire branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association this week 🙌🏻🥳

A huge congratulations to Margaret and her team for their tremendous fundraising effort, it’s been such an honour to work together on this project 🧡

Copies of Margaret’s Cakes & Bakes can be purchased for £7.50 from Cradley Village Shop or by emailing [email protected], with all proceeds going to

M E R R Y 🎄 C H R I S T M A S

We hope everyone’s had a lovely Christmas, however you’ve celebrated, and that you’ve managed to find some moments of calm amongst the chaos ❤️

We’ve stepped away from the magazines for a few days to enjoy time with our little boys, playing board games, going on welly walks and eating an impolite amount of cheese 😅

With two copy deadlines waiting for us in mid January as well as a re-jig of our work set up, we’re intentionally using this time to pause, rest and reflect on this incredible whirlwind of a year!

It was this time last year, during twixmas, that the idea of starting our own publishing studio was first being floated around - and here we are a year on with 9 magazines, a charity cook book and a national award under our belts!

I think that’s definitely worth us raising a glass (or three!) too! 😄🥂

Earlier this week we were invited to be the guest speakers at the Herefordshire MG Owners Club, talking about print and publishing, and what it’s like owning a small business 🤓🖨️📚

It was definitely WAY outside my comfort zone, but such a fantastic experience with really positive feedback! I took a selection of publications produced by as well as a selection of personalised gifts we make at .uk - we even had some cake from one of the recipes in the charity cookbook - Margaret’s Cakes & Bakes - that we published in September!

It was a great opportunity to make some new connections, take some orders and collect donations for

Thank you so much for inviting us to talk - another thing to tick off the bucket list! 😅✅

*No photographic evidence of me actually speaking as the lady taking pictures forgot - she very kindly claims she was far too enthralled by my fascinating presentation! 😜😂
