Being a women football journalist comes with own risks. I have been receiving death threats, insults but I did not back down!
I’m not a public relations officer. I am a watchdog.
My job has always been to increase transparency and accountability to the people in charge of women football.
I am a fact checker, a researcher and I bring transparency to issues.
In 2024 I’m not stopping so please tell a friend to tell a friend that the women and girls who play football in Zimbabwe have a watchdog who protects their interests

In Zimbabwe a prophet called Prophet Walter Magaya constructed a stadium a 5000 seater expandable venue with unique features. Prophet Magaya also owns a women’s football club which was in the Zimbabwe Super League called Yadah Queens

To effect balance and to safeguard the competitive integrity of our League, be hereby advised that after further consultations, the Board has resolved that Shine Shine Queens be removed completely from the 2023 Super League Log Table.

This implies that all records thereof will now be eliminated.

Therefore, this weekend's Log Table will be updated to this effect

@followers It was in October 2015 when this squad of the Zimbabwe Mighty Warriors qualified for the Olympics. I had started the journey of writing and travelling with the national team in 2011 when I was just fresh from journalism school and just 19 years old. The team had started their Olympic qualifiers when I was pregnant with my second child and I told the girls at training that I was expecting a boy and they named him “Rio” after the city that the Olympics were being hosted in. They had Faith already that they would qualify and when they did they dragged me into making this dancing video with them in the changing room, the late Rufaro was singing joyfully, Merjury Nyaumwe was wearing her iconic hairstyle, what a day!!! #ThisIsMelo #melodygwenyambira
