🎄That’s a wrap for 2024! The studios are closed until I’m back from tour with the band.

A huge thank you to everyone who I’ve worked with this year - We made some awesome sounds in the studio! There’s lots of exciting plans on the horizon for 2025 so watch this space for news on those.

For now though Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Myself and the foxes will be back in action from Monday 20th January… if I can get them out of the snow here in France… 🦊❄️

Recent sessions where we used the Echo Tanks in the studio to create unique atmospheres for the songs we were recording - a spooky vocal ambiance for one, and a lush chamber sound for a string quartet on another 🦊

Our “echo tanks“ are two very large old oil tanks from the 1950s that give us a unique, organic reverb effect. (Tank #2 is pictured)

The studios are now fully booked in January (except 2 slots) and only have a few spaces available in February, so please get in touch if you’d like to record in early 2025!

It’s been manic here at the studios for the past few weeks!

Recording and mixing all sorts of fantastic music - way more stuff than I managed to remember to get photos of!
(Most of these ones are courtesy of Edsential Musical Routes who luckily brought a photographer along with them for their sessions!)

The studios are now fully booked until February next year so please get in touch if you’d like to make some noise in 2025! 🦊

Studio Announcement:
We have an incredibly limited amount of studio time remaining this year and only have a few, limited spaces between Wednesday 13th November and Monday 9th December. The next available sessions after that are from 29th January 2025!

If you’d like to book some studio time this year for either recording or mixing please get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

This is Valve… sometimes Valve can stop working and needs to be replaced… that’s ok as when the time comes to renew Valve you simply buy a new Valve and swap out the old one… there’s no need to spend an awful amount of time messing around with iLocks, subscription incompatibility and constant computer restarts to try and get your compressor or other bit of audio equipment to work again…

…software companies; be more like Valve… 🙃

So sorry to hear that Risa Hall has passed away. I have great memories of working with her in the studio and on stage. She was always very supportive of me and what I did, as she was for many musicians. She will be very much missed by very many. My thoughts are with Jim and her family. Here’s to you, my favourite YankManc!

…Including getting an oldskool ‘80s sound for a guitar line, editing some vocals for another project and being gifted some fantastic foxes by Hayley when she came in to sing on a new album in the Puppetshades series (check it out the series is a bit of a cult hit!)
