For some reason people who visit this site are supposed to click the like button. It's all a load of rubbish, but the more likes you get, the more propoganda you can spread about your business. Yes, please ignore the previous sentence. Just tick the bloody like box, and don't even think about it! As for the label, well we love all the artists and are immensely proud of the work they've created. I
truly believe that these musicians are up there with the best, and can't believe how lucky we are to have them on board. Over the years I hear recordings which would be massive hits, if they were to get national exposure. One particular recording was J.D. McPherson's "North Side Gal". It had been around for a couple of years before it attracted the attention of Nick Lowe, who in turn secured a deal with Rounder records in the USA and Universal in the UK. It would have been criminal to let this song slip through the net, but that's where it was going until the PR and money men got going. Unfortunately that's where the music scene is now. Unless you're with a major label, you can more or less give up the ghost of getting any national airplay, which more or less means Universal now, as they're buying up everything! We'll never see the likes of another "Jungle Rock" which secured Charly's fortunes, and those heady days of independant labels from the late 70s and 80s who were taken seriously, have long since gone. The relevance of all this waffle is a track that we're just about to release. "Heart Of Gold" by Keith Turner & The Southern Sound is the best version of this classic song I've ever heard. It would be a top ten record in the States without a doubt if it got the airplay. It's commercial, brilliantly executed and transcends all the borders. Let's see what happens!
