Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfalls in Wales is classed as one of the seven wonders of Wales and is also classed as a site of Special of Scientific Interest (SSSI). The area is easily accessible to the public and footpaths can be walked that lead to the base of the falls as well as a path ascending over 240 feet to the top of the falls. Whilst the walk to the top of the falls can be challenging it is well worth the effort. The natural beauty and wildlife to be found in the area is stunning. PISTYLL RHAEADR FALLS - ONE OF THE SEVEN WONDERS OF WALES......
Today we visited Pistyll Rhaeadr falls formed by the Afon Disgynfa falling, in three stages, over a 240-foot (73 m) Silurian cliff-face, below which the river is known as the Afon Rhaeadr. The tallest stage is estimated at about 40 metres. It is counted as one of the Seven Wonders of Wales and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The 19th-century author George Borrow, in his book Wild Wales, remarked of the waterfall: "What shall I liken it to? I scarcely know, unless it is to an immense skein of silk agitated and disturbed by tempestuous blasts, or to the long tail of a grey courser at furious speed. I never saw water falling so gracefully, so much like thin, beautiful threads as here."
This site is well worth the effort to pay a visit and is a place of outstanding natural beauty.

The Bell of St Agatha dated 1577... Hear its chimes today.....
ST AGATHA BELL CHIMES....... First Ringing...
Today I built a bespoke stand to mount the bronze Bell upon permanently allowing me to be able to ring the bell properly for the first time since I rescued it last week and hear the true tone of this stunning historical bell dated to 1577 AD.... It still chimes as clear as it did centries ago.
It sets the imagination going when you realise that this bell was being rung in the 16th century and the chime would have been the same when ringing across the village calling people to prayer as the recording I made earlier today.
The recording is attached as a short video....

Exclusive interview: History writer & Presenter James Balme
For the past 22 years I have been writing and presenting features and films about the history that surrounds us. In that time I have featured on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 to highlight the work that I do. In January 2021 I took the decision to turn full time with my writing, presenting and film work and it was certainly the right decision. More recently I have been a guest on several BBC Radio shows to talk about my recent work and latest series of Rambles through History.
Now for the first time on Tvpresenter4history I give an in-depth personal interview talking about my work, the early days as a writer and film maker, my work today and I also give an insight into when I shared six days filming with Time Team !!!!!
So sit back and listen as I tell of my life as a writer, film maker and history presenter.....
