Spokesperson has said

“Walsall council clabsolutely floored to report that a whopping 40ft trailer filled with transfer station waste was recently discovered abandoned on Skip Lane in Walsall. “

“this is a major flytipping incident, as we're not taking it lightly. The culprits have shown a complete disregard for the environment and our community. 👎”
“Our environmental officers swiftly arranged for the trailer to be recovered and taken to a waste transfer station in Fryers Road, Bloxwich. The trailer's contents are being thoroughly examined for any non-conforming waste or evidence within the load. “

“After inspection, the Environmental Agency will join forces with our staff to sift through the waste for clues, as it is suspected to be linked to a broader organised crime ring affecting various areas in the Black Country, including several tips in Dudley. “

“We're determined to track down the culprits and bring them to justice.”

A YouTuber visited a crime-hit estate in Walsall and was quickly told to 'f*** off', he claims. The travel blogger, who runs the UK Explored channel on YouTube, branded the Blakenall Heath estate 'Britain's roughest' after visiting the area himself.

He claims the woman who swore at him on Dawson Street - where houses have been trashed - then got on her phone and he made a swift exit. The presenter also found a dead and flattened rat in a children's play park while filming around the estate

The estate hit the national headlines last year over a campaign of terror by youths, where a house was allegedly set on fire and a pigeon was ripped apart outside of a shop. Residents have told how they are living in fear in their area which has been compared to 'war-torn Ukraine'

Inflation dropped more than expected
The rate of price rises in the UK has slowed more than expected in the 12 months to June.

Forecasters had predicted a fall from 8.7% to 8.2% so that's a bigger step in the right direction.

Falling fuel prices contributed to the drop, while food prices rose less quickly than in June last year.

But with a typical basket of goods and services still costing almost 8% more than a year ago, the UK is finding it harder to shake off this bout of high inflation than the US or the EU - or than policymakers would like.

A new bus lane in Walsall has caught out over 7,000 of drivers this year since being introduced by council bosses. Restrictions were brought in on Bridge Street last August as part of safety measures to limit the number of vehicles in the town centre they said But new figures suggest the changes have taken some getting used to for locals, with more than 7,400 drivers fined between February and the end of May - around 60 every day....
