Blackpool, set along the Irish Sea in England, a classic seaside amusement park filled with fairground rides and roller coasters. Its most famous landmark, Blackpool Tower, dating back to 1894, houses a circus, a glass viewing platform, and the Tower Ballroom, where dancers move gracefully to the sound of a Wurlitzer organ. Each year, the Promenade comes alive with the Blackpool Illuminations, casting colourful light across the seafront.
I’ve visited Blackpool more times than I can remember, yet every trip leaves me a little sad as I see the shine it once had fade gradually. It has always been a place people both love or hate. Long celebrated as a family getaway, it remains known for its bright lights, its tower, and the attractions that still draw crowds but I feel some of that is slowly disappearing and the buzz of Blackpool no longer is there.

An Easter break for a few days to visit to another beautiful part of Scotland, exploring the historic county of Fife. We visited the town of Kirkcaldy and drove along the Fife coastline from Glenrothes to Anstruther. Maybe one day we will return to travel the rest of the coastline.
