In Development at CinemArts Ltd

"To a soaring bird , lifted high in the wind , it must have seemed a sign of home , or at least a thing standing against all the elements of time . Like a lighthouse on a rock , a ruined castle on the horizon ; a landmark that might guide weak creatures to safety .

All of Nature knew the Windmill . People , clouds , birds , woodworm , climbing plants , rats and squinting babies .

Once it was completely alone in a green field , but now a gobbling suburb had the Windmill surrounded : trapped in tarmac , shadowed by laburnum trees , blocked by driveways and parked cars , infested with recycling . Nevertheless , the world could not completely overwhelm it . The Windmill had dignity in its redundancy and decay . To the kids in the street it was just "there" - out of bounds - do not enter - health and safety - locked and boarded by the Council . But the elderly neighbours remembered it turning . Still heard it creaking . Remembered it alive . The unforgotten children they once were , had seen Autumn leaves flying among its giant rotating sails . To them , the Windmill's magic was not gone . Their imaginations still flickered with illusions and distant playground sounds . What if the wind ever turned the mill again ? Well , maybe they should be returned to infancy and live their lives once more "

2023 promises the relaunch of of our "CinemArts Cafe" concept - screening every genre from all nations and periods of movie history . Catch film classics in bars , cafes and art spaces - full cinema quality with great food and drink !
Alfred Hitchcock's seminal masterpiece "The Lodger" - strongly influenced by his time working with the Expressionist movement in Germany - is on the agenda . ( With live new music from Keiran White ! )

CinemArts Ltd has an exciting programme of independent big-screen film events lined up for when more pandemic data is in and it's fully safe to resume .
