We all have wobbles and moments, itâs how quickly you bounce back.
Bouncing back quickly means cracking on with what can change things for you.
The very next day, I cracked on. I took the steps I needed to, to make a difference to my sales in my business.
Having better engagement doesnât necessarily bring you more sales. (It helps, but doesnât always bring in the money.)
Having a bigger reach definitely doesnât equate to sales. I have worked with several people who have 10âs of thousands of views on social media, but donât make sales.

What will make sales?
Very simply, connections.
Build up a rapport in the DMâs everyone.

Iâm here to tell you that posting and doing nothing else, will categorically get you no sales on social media. So what would I do differently?
1. Post on stories daily with a point that ultimately leads to asking for a sale. The story you tell is relevant to something you sell. i.e donât just post on your grid/feed.
2. Engage with those people who interacted with that story in DMâs. DO NOT STRAIGHT UP SAY IN DMâs âHey, buy this!â
3. Every time you post, message the people who engage with the post simply thanking them and asking relevant questions.
4. âSellâ free things to get people onto your email list. Then up your email sending to weekly.
5. Go live with someone who has used your services before. Effectively selling for you because theyâre going to be saying how good you are!

Expectation vs Reality
Who expected to just jump on Facebook or Instagram and get sales/engagement all those things and was frustrated all you got was....
TUMBLEWEED?! Literally nothing, maybe your friend likes your post. If you're really lucky you got a little more than that but ultimately you didn't see the sales roll on in?
I hear you, I understand but I want to give you a mike check. Any type of growth (including social media followers and engagement) won't be consistent and it won't be permanently positive.
It all comes with peaks, troughs and plateaus. But please don't be scared of the troughs or plateaus. It's not always a sign that something has gone wrong - it could be one of these things:
1. If you are following your strategy, engagement, reach and follower drop MAY decrease because you need to focus on conversion or nurturing your audience.
2. Hey in summer, people may be focused on their summer holidays or kids - they could be more interested in your product or service during winter months. This is where it's good to know what your seasonality is for your business!
3. The old competition could have something major going on which detracts away from you. Also, competition could even just be people more interested in BoJo's latest announcement on Covid - who knows. It might not always be the direct competition you think!
It's a digital world out there, so don't panic if you can't figure out if it's YOU, what you've done or anything to do with you even. There could be a peak around the corner ;)
