There's plenty going on in and around the Castle this month, including:

Thursday 6th June - D Day Celebrations ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง
Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day at Ludlow Castle with food & drink and entertainment, as well as a Beacon lighting at the end of the evening. In collaboration with Ludlow Town Council and Ludlow Chamber of Commerce Ludlow Guide ๐Ÿ™Œ

13th - 23rd June - Shakespeare in the Castle ๐ŸŽญ
Romeo and Juliet will be performed in the Castle grounds by the incredible Flabbergast Theatre as part of Ludlow Fringe (get your tickets from Ludlow Assembly Rooms).

Saturday 15th June - Ludlow Town Carnival ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽก
Join the celebration as the joyous town carnival makes its way from Ludlow Brewery to Ludlow Castle. The theme this year is Love ๐Ÿ’•

A FREE Family Event Tomorrow: Thursday 6th June from 6.30pm

Join us for this free community event which is being held in collaboration with Ludlow Town Council and Ludlow Chamber of Trade Ludlow Guide ๐Ÿ™Œ

Bring a picnic and soak up the atmosphere in the Outer Bailey, with entertainment and food & drink from local vendors.

Performances from: Macy O, Ludlow Town Band, Saxophone Quartet and Paul Berwick.

Fantastic food and drink: Chips from Pizza Girls, Pizza from The Wedding Pizza Company, Bar from The Shed, Ice Cream from Laura's Delicious Dairy

Learn about the life of young Prince Arthur Tudor (1486 - 1502) in our Half Term Trail - Educating Arthur, running until this Sunday 2nd June ๐Ÿ“š

Life was very different for children at the turn of the 16th century, and even more so if you happened to be the heir to the throne. Visit Ludlow Castle this Half Term and discover what Prince Arthur's life and education would have been like, from horsemanship and weaponry to languages, history and governance. ๐Ÿ‘‘

This trail is ideal for ages 7+, or younger children with help from a grown-up ๐Ÿฐ

Hergest Croft Gardens is thrilled to welcome Chris Williams to her new studio in Kington! ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒธ With over 130 Champion Trees and 5,000 rare plants, this historic estate is perfect for her landscape art.

Originally from North Wales, Chris studied at the Laird School of Art and Newcastle Polytechnic. Sheโ€™s exhibited widely, including the RBSA, RWA, and RCA, and is a former Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year entrant ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

Last night we hosted an event for local Optometrists to showcase the patients pathway when having Cataract Surgery.

Four of our Consultant Ophthalmologists manned three stations to talk through the initial consultation, the procedure itself and the post op follow up. We had over 30 attendees and received some amazing feedback on the night about how interactive and informative the sessions were.

This is our first event of this kind since covid and it was great to welcome people back into the hospital. A massive thank you to our Ophthalmologists for supporting our event, Mr Sagili (pictured in theatre), Mr Viswanathan, Mr Awad and Mr Rao, and to our attendees. We hope to see you all again soon.
