Coming to Norwich this month...
This is a fantastic workshop for actors, film makers, theatre heads and directors-a-like (and anyone interested in the craft of acting) - We highly recommend any film makers looking to further their knowledge of working with actors consider attending as an observer, its a fascinating technique and helps give an insight in to connecting deeper with your actors.

Beyond Words: An Active Analysis Workshop
Two Days on Stanislavski's Acting Technique - handed down through a line of direct pedagogy from the man himself in his final years. New publications on this technique expected to be published publicly in 2025.
Tutor: Jason Wilson
Dates: Sat 27th - Sun 28th April 2024
Times: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Venue: The Garage, 14 Chapel Field North, Norwich, NR2 1NY
A simple, systematic and progressive scene study technique created by Stanislavski in the last four years of his life. Instead of heavy table work, the actor joyfully explores a script using expressive movement and sound. For details of the itinerary and what to expect, please read attached PDF.
“Active analysis as a process is the single most profound acting training I have ever encountered and Jason and Cotter are the most supportive and encouraging tutors. They nurtured this safe space for actors to free fall into creativity.” - Workshop Participant, February 2024
“I almost don’t want to tell anyone about this technique. I want to steal it and create a rep company with all the actors there and run away and act all over the world. For ever and ever, Amen.” Workshop Participant, October 2023
Price: Advertised regionally and nationally, the price to artists for this workshop is £350 per participant ticket, £50 for a two-day observer pass and £35 for a single observer pass. I do however also have some subsidised participant tickets in this instance for local artists to East Anglia and those with financial barriers, please get in touch directly if you'd like to know more - [email protected].
How to apply for a standard price place
If you are able to pay the full fee of £350, and by doing so would like to support peers who may be facing financial barriers to participation, please apply directly via [email protected]. There is no hard deadline for applications, but early booking is advised, as places are going fast and the workshop is fast-approaching this month.
How to apply for a subsidised place
The subsidised places are aimed to enable artists - specifically regional ones - to take part in this exciting training opportunity who might otherwise face financial barriers to do so. If you would like to apply for a subsidised place, please email directly. Include a brief paragraph describing how the subsidised opportunity will directly enable and benefit your development. Suitable places will be allocated on a first-served, first-served basis. Shortly after your email, we’ll let you know if a subsidised place is available, after which you’ll receive confirmation. With a subsidy, your fee for the workshops will be £250.
Thank you for your support!

More festival news for HOLD

It's been a while since we've had anything concrete to report on the festival front, we have had a few selections, though the festivals have had to postpone their dates due to the current COVID situation. However, one fantastic festival which is going ahead and has selected HOLD for its 2021 programme is the wonderful Beeston Film Festival, which is heading online this year!

Running from 22nd March - 28th March, the festival will screen 140 hand picked films from across the globe from a range of genres.
