This is a true fact: When it comes to social, my clients do better than I do. After we finish working together, they're motivated to keep up with the strategy that we set up, and keep growing because they show up (almost) daily. They have a structure in place that's sustainable and works for them. That's gold! ✨​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​A few things I keep say, and they are good at applying it:
✨ For growth, you need to post at least 3x a week (however, I must point out that a content strategy isn't the same thing as a growth strategy).
✨ For engagement, you need a good copy, a good visual, and a whole lot of personality and value.
✨ For conversions, you must talk about your offer and products, and highlight your USP (unique selling point), and brand story.

A few who did that:
✨ grew by 2K followers in the following 2 months of working with me, 7K to date.
✨ started her account with my training, and is 8K strong!
✨ grew their account to 15K since 2017 and has secured financial resources to award the competition winners.

I had a few minutes to reflect on this year, and let me tell you, it's been a wild ride!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​With Alfie and Tony diving into full-time preschool back in January, you'd think things would've eased up a bit, but nope, the hustle outside work is real.

Between the clients and some business development. Alet's not forget the daily marathon of school drop-offs, whipping up meals, and trying to maintain some semblance of order in the chaos.

As I collapse into bed each night, I find myself yearning for a few extra hours, a little less exhaustion, and perhaps a good night's sleep (that is still not guaranteed).

Just a snapshot of the whirlwind that is my life when I manage to step away from the social for a breather.

No. 1: So grateful to have worked with .studio.co and planning a little Instagram Live collab soon.

No. 2: Family time is the most joyful thing for me at the moment. Alfie enjoyed his "brown and pink ice cream".

No. 3: We travelled to see our family in Slovakia over Easter. I found a beautiful coffee shop in the middle of nowhere. Total win.

No. 4.: Andrej and I have managed to have a few dates lately. It's still rare, but I feel like I'm winning in life.

No. 5: A rare moment when I enjoyed a glass of prosecco this year. I did dry January and drink very little at the moment. Wearing

No. 6: My friend enrolled me in a monthly yoga class. Thanks!

No. 7: Did you know I'm an avid baker in my spare time? Usually baking something for my boys over the weekend.

Many people believe that gaining followers is akin to rocket science. While it requires intentional actions and visibility, the decision to follow is actually quite simple.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​✨ Begin with a clear profile picture featuring your face or a recognizable logo.
✨ Choose a handle that is easy to type, avoiding hyphens, periods, and numbers whenever possible.
✨ Use your real name or brand name.
✨ Review your Instagram Highlights to ensure they clearly showcase your offerings, products, positive reviews, or user-generated content.
✨ Pin posts that you want to highlight, such as promotions, achievements, or new products/services.
✨ Ensure your grid maintains coherence, but don't stress about achieving perfection!

That's it. Aligning with these points will speed up people's decisions to follow you.

In 2024, the most challenging and important thing will be to keep people interested in your brand. People are really getting brand-fatigued and they unfollow what's no longer interesting. Follow these five things to STAND OUT. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​✨ AI vs Personal Touch – I've been preaching about the business owners, their employees and creators showing up in the posts and Stories for ages. As AI content is emerging, nothing will be considered as important as human touch. Show your face. Make a video with your employees. Get those creators' content of your products out there. STOP. BEING. FACELESS.

✨Less Polished – We all know that Instagram is the queen of perfected content. But it's time to move on (at least slightly). All your posts don't have to match the grid. Think more informal video, quick Stories, more behind-the-sceens. A little more raw, definitely less perfect.

✨More Opinionated – If you ever wondered why your content never catches a spark and creates discussions, it might be that you're not sharing your opinions. It's also a great way to show your values and brand mission. It's not about arguing or being mean. Think what you stand for and what you celebrate.

✨Utilising Social SEO – With Gen Z using social media platforms as search engines, it's important to use the right keywords and hashtags in your posts (including video content). The bonus side: Investing less in your website, and putting your time into using the right keywords on social.

✨Connections and Community – Fostering good connections should be the key focus of 2024. Think of the customers who interact with your brand. Ask them for testimonials and UGC, and post it. Think of ways to increase referrals and word-of-mouth. Having others say great things about your brand is more important than saying them yourself.

1. Pivoting – All brands develop and grow. That's inevitable. However, changing everything a few times has been very confusing for my followers, and I think many people unfollowed me in the process.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
2. Outbound engagement – Over time, I have noticed that people who followed me as a result of purely engaging with them stopped interest either in Instagram or in me. Result: they're not online, and my engagement is lower.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
3. Collaborate – I'm still developing this skill, and it's not an easy one for me. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
4. Following industry accounts – In addition to what I said, following industry accounts helps the algorithm index your account better and show your account in suggestions.​​​​​​​​

5. Focus on new tools – My goal in the future is to be an early adaptor. So anytime Instagram offers a new tool, it's an opportunity to grow.​​​​​​​​

Social Media Marketing Made Easy

I’m a social media marketing specialist working with personal brands and running a consultancy for small to medium-sized businesses. I also lecture with the University of the Arts London and Istituto Marangoni.

My journey in social media started in 2007 when I started blogging for an Apple magazine. A year later I founded a fashion magazine, became the editor-in-chief and wrote more than 1,500 blog posts. In late 2013 I moved to Prague and found a great interest in blogging from the general public, which led me to start my first workshops.

Since my first workshop in Prague, I’ve provided training and consulting to over 750 individuals. After I moved to London with my now-husband in 2014, I became a lecturer at the University of the Arts London where I’ve remained to date.

In 2018 I started my own consultancy business. Understanding the needs of personal brands, I developed a programme specifically for those individuals who wanted to thrive on social media. Additionally, I train small to medium-sized companies to achieve their business goals and design their strategy. Some of my clients include Amazon, glh Hotels, and The United Nations.
