New Fakenham Arts Festival for 2025

Active Fakenham is excited to announce a new community initiative, "Fakenham Arts Festival”, Inspired by the success of the 2024 Active Fakenham Film Festival. This initiative aims to foster stronger connections and promote local engagement.

Active Fakenham is hoping to support and organise a local arts festival to help showcase some of the talented local artists. We are looking to run a festival from 24th to 31st August 2025. This could involve a trail using local shops, cafes and other venues in the town through a week in August culminating in an exhibition on Sunday 31st August 2025 in the Fakenham Community Centre. We hope to include a range of media.

We can only do it if we are supported by some local people/artists to help us run it. We are willing and able to provide support and knowhow.

We can :
• Venue: We can book and fund the rooms.
• Publicity: We can help with publicity including coverage in press, design and host a webpage, social media, and leaflets. We will fund this.
• Town Guide Listing: Potential inclusion in the Fakenham Town Guide.
• Ride North Norfolk : This will also be on the Sunday 31st August in the grounds of the Fakenham Community Centre, so there will be quite a large number of people around as well as those attending the Arts Festival.
• Café Treats: Coffee, cakes, and a barbecue will be on site on Sunday 31st August.
• Organising Help and Support: We can provide assistance with event planning and ex*****on.
• Intros to Shops and Venues: We have connections to local businesses and venues who will be willing to display artworks.

We need help with:
• Curation: Curate the events on the day or days.
• Displays: Arrange displays around town the previous week, with some already agreed upon.
• Rota Management: Manage the rota and ensure smooth operations on the day and oversee the week.
• Day-of Responsibilities: Take responsibility on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Select artwork: Help with the selection of the artworks to be displayed and set up exhibition

Richard Crook from Active Fakenham said,

“This is an exciting opportunity for artists and the town. It can only happen if we have some help with the running of the event so I hope people will get in touch to discuss it and see if we can make this a reality”

"We believe that by bringing Fakenham together, we can create a stronger, more united community. This initiative is about fostering a sense of belonging and pride in our town, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have."
For more information about how you can get involved, please contact Richard at [email protected].

About Active Fakenham: Active Fakenham is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Fakenham residents and visitors through community-driven programs and initiatives. Our mission is to build a stronger, more connected Fakenham by promoting local engagement and collaboration.

📣Half of all tickets for The Real Halloween are sold already!📣

Considering getting a ticket?... Wondering what the Real Halloween is all about?

🍂 At the Fairyland Trust we believe the true meaning of Halloween is not scary, gory or even full of sugar and plastic. We believe The Real Halloween is a celebration of true autumnal magic, held at the time of year when the veil between our world and the world of magic and nature grows thin...

🍁 Set in a woodland glade deep in the Norfolk countryside, The Real Halloween is a true display of nature, fun and magic.

✨ It has music, log fires, traditional games, magical nature workshops, storytelling (including our own Story of The Real Halloween at dusk), food and drink, all leading up to a candle-lit magical animal lantern parade through the woods as night falls.

➡ To find out more about the true meaning of Halloween and to learn about the event, head to www.fairylandtrust.org.
