Good luck to everyone waiting for news on Secondary school places today. Just a reminder below of the process for accepting or appealing your child's offered place:
HOW WILL I FIND OUT WHAT PLACE MY CHILD HAS BEEN OFFERED?
If you live in Surrey and applied online, the Council will email you the outcome of your application in the evening of 1 March 2024. You can also log into your eAdmissions account to see the outcome from the same evening.
If you have opted to receive notifications from the eAdmissions website (Android devices only) or if you have downloaded the mobile app 'ParentComms', you will also receive a notification in the evening of 1 March 2024 telling you the school your child has been allocated.
If you live in Surrey and applied on a paper, the Council will write to you on 1 March 2024 letting you know the outcome of your application.
If you live outside Surrey, your local authority will let you know the outcome of your application, even if you have applied for Surrey schools.
HOW DO I ACCEPT OR DECLINE THE PLACE?
You must accept or decline the place that you have been offered by 15 March 2024.
If you applied online, you can log in www.eadmissions.org.uk/user/home to reply to the offer.
If you applied by paper, you will need to email the Council your response or return the reply slip by post.
The Council strongly recommend you accept the place you are offered, even if this is not for the school you wanted, as it will ensure your child has a school place in September.
Accepting the offered place will not negatively affect your child's position on any waiting lists for other schools, nor the outcome of any appeal.
Declining the offer will not increase the chances of your child being offered a place at your preferred school.
If you decline the offer and you have no alternative place you will be responsible for finding your child another school. The place you decline may be offered to another child so may not be available later if you change your mind.
If you don't respond to an offer, it will be withdrawn.
