Over 70s Christmas event at Katie O'Brien's Leicester. Last chance to book!

Christmas is a time for fun, celebrations and giving, and this Christmas Katie O’Brien's on Market Street is hoping to do all three as they host an event for the older members of other community who might not get the chance to get out and get together quite so regularly.

On Wednesday 11th December their over 70s Christmas party will take place, and tickets are open to all members of the community over the age of 70. The pub will open solely for them from 12pm - 3pm for 3 hours for a drink or two (or three) and a sandwich, mince pie and singalong.

This is a complimentary event, there is no ticket fee and the tills will be turned off. It’s the pub's opportunity to give something back to the local community.

Steps fans, you're going to like this! The new musical based on the songs of hit pop group, Steps, is going on tour and it's coming to Leicester.

Here and Now is set in a seaside superstore and explores themes of love and betrayal. The story is woven together by Steps’ well-known hits such as “Tragedy,” “Stomp,”, “5,6,7,8,” and “One for Sorrow".

Keep an eye out for ticket info. It will be at CURVE theatre, Leicester from 28 April - 3 May 2026.

Because every child should be able to experience the magic of meeting Santa. Santa's Inclusive Grotto is back for 2024 and bookings are now open. This year the Grotto is back in a city centre location (right near Highcross) with parking available.

This magical Christmas experience is specially designed for children with special needs and their families. The Inclusive Grotto creates a calm, understanding, and fully accessible environment where every child can experience the wonder of meeting Santa at their own pace.

The Grotto is 100% free and is funded by The Mckeefery Family from Leicestershire and their amazing volunteers and sponsors. Please only book if your child has a disability.
