I found out about Steve albini years ago when I first bought Surfer Rosa and come on Pilgrim. After that he kept popping up on albums that I found sonically fascinating. When I started working in Studios, there were so many people who would come in talking about him and his records, and how he would work with almost anyone who had a reasonable budget. I loved his ethos and ingenuity, and in the time I spent teaching recording and production I would always defer him as a trailblazer in recording techniques, and his no nonsense approach to interpersonal skills!
