A boycott has been proposed of Instagram for a day. People are fed up that it’s now all about videos like TikTok rather than pictures like it used to be.
What do you think Instagram should be? And will you be staying off Insta for a day??

What happens when you hit the publish button before you proofread your writing! Ooops.

Instagram are introducing warnings aimed at teens to stop ‘doomscrolling’ - will it work? Or just send them to another platform?
Meta’s facing pressure from all sides to do a better job of protecting teens. Are its time management features enough?

Please excuse the language but this is a fascinating article about LinkedIn. I am not a huge fan of the platform because of the points raised in the article.
Vulgar DM’s, heavy aggressive sales pushes, and don’t get me started on people who contact you about a job and then completely blank you.
There is some very worrying behaviour and there’s no regulation to stop it.
There are many ways to try to control it from a business point of view though. Do get in touch if you need any help.
Are you still using LinkedIn for your business?
Will this address all of your Instagram problems and concerns?

We all need to remember this good advice at the moment.
You need to know this 👇
1. It’s absolutely fine to admit you don’t know what to say right now.
You’re not the only one. And your audience will thank you for being honest. Staying silent is worst than saying you don’t know what to say.
2. Growing your business right now is also totally fine.
Doing so keeps the economy going, it provides for your family (and your team’s) and when you earn more you can donate more.
3. Now more than ever, listen to your audience.
If their needs change, your content & your offer should too. So don’t be afraid to ask them what they need from you.
We stand with Ukraine.

Awful news coming in from the Ukraine. And great advice from The Two Lauras about your social media. Please fact check anything before posting - let’s not spread fake news.
URGENT... Marketing during the ever-changing situation in Ukraine
Russia has invaded Ukraine. Now is the time to ensure all content is sensitive to the situation.
• Pause any posts that may seem insensitive.
• Even if your target audience is not in Ukraine or Russia, their family or friends could be. So be sensitive to that.
• Switch to brand awareness for now.
• Check live ads on every platform and adjust as required
• Don’t post about the situation just for engagement sake.
• If relevant, address the situation and offer your support. (But only if relevant)
• Maintain social listening to be aware of sudden changes and have a plan to be reactive to them.

Finishing with my lovely training for non-profits client today after nearly 2 years.
I’ve really enjoyed tweeting daily for her and joining in some fun Twitter chats.
Wishing her all the very best for the future. 😍
But just had a discovery call with a lovely potential new client in the property development sector which I am very excited about!

I know, I know, I’m terrible at updating my own professional pages. It’s the fault of many a busy social media manager, we spend all our creative juices making our clients accounts look amazing and leave nothing left for our own pages! 🤦🏻♀️
Must do better in 2022!
In the meantime, this is where I’m blogging at the moment for the fabulous ladies at Shine Salon Success- if you know an amazing hairdresser, salon owner or beauty expert then tell them they need to get on this page! https://shine-salonsuccess.co.uk/blog/

Just the start...
I’m Sue and I live in West London.
I have over 20 years experience working in the very creative and exciting world of media and television, first working in television production at the BBC and more recently the world of strategic scheduling and audience analytics for channels such as Sky One, Sky Living and Real Lives.
Although i loved my work passionately, i actually wanted to use my skills to run my own company, and after re-training with #Digitalmums and realising that i could merge my strategic skills with my love of social media - Social By Sue was born.
I founded the parenting Instagram and blog @BuddiesBabiesandBiscuits while on maternity leave to help other parents at home with young children plan activities and crafts with their kids, and have built up nearly 2k followers in just over 6 months, and have recently had an article published in Toddle About Magazine.
I also use my love of all things handmade to run the local campaign @EalingCraftCollective highlighting local crafters and small businesses in my local area.
I have great creative skills and am here to help you succeed and be seen in the busy world of social media, whether you need an audit of your current channels, full SM set up and run, or just a quick power hour or 121 with advice on how to grow your social media following.
Awareness of your brand and social engagement is so important if you want to reach more potential customers and i can show you how to shine.
