SETTING BOUNDARIES AS A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER.
Here are some top tips that I wish I knew when I first started my small business. If you want more information on each one and the stories behind why I came to each conclusion comment below... because boy do I have some stories! 😳
✨ Saying no is okay.
Whatever the reason, saying no is okay. You don't have to take on every single job that comes your way.
✨ Do not work for free.
Your time is valuable, free trial is an insult to the years you have spent working on your craft. If they don't want to pay for your time, then they do not respect what you do and that is not a client you want to work with anyway. 🥱
✨ Stick to your rates.
It is difficult to say no to money, but your rates are the price they are because of your skill level and the time you spend doing the work. Don't undersell yourself. Just let the client know how long it will take you to complete the services they need and what your hourly rate is. They should understand this and come to a conclusion that works for you both. 💰
✨ Be clear about contactable hours.
A work-life balance is important and if you are clear from the start what your contactable hours are, it will protect you from burn-out.⏰
✨ Protect your knowledge
I think it is important to let the client know the thought processes behind the actions you are performing on their accounts but make sure you don't give too much information away. Spongebob didn't give away the secret crabby patty formula and neither should you! 🍔
