We are now onto the end of our second week and the 10th day since we made our request to the College for evidence of proper governance and therefore proper accountability of the organisation to its profession.
We now would request that for those that believe passionately in moving this profession forward copy and paste this email to the college: [email protected]
“Dear College,
Since the COVID-19 outbreak ODPs have continued to demonstrate their incredible ability to adapt and provide excellent patient care in all settings of healthcare.I am proud to be a part of this profession. It is for that reason that myself and my colleagues are now demanding a truly representative and responsible professional body.
With that in mind there are three questions myself and my colleagues would like answered
1) We request that the College charter, memorandum or articles of association be posted online and made available for all to see.
2) We request that annual accounts for at least the past 5 years are posted online and made available for all to see (this can be done in the form of annual reports). So that members may see where their professional membership money is going.
3) We request the college immediately provide details of the board and presidential election process as well as providing dates to the next election cycle and how members can apply.
All three of these are at the very basic foundations of good governance of any organisation.
