Well it’s sure been quiet around here recently, but I have been working for the past 6 months on a reissue of a true desert rock classic! That’s going to be announced/released in the next couple of weeks! Very excited about this one.

Also, I ask a favour of my American friends, if anyone is doing RSD this Friday, I would be majorly grateful if someone could help me out with a copy of the Screaming Trees live LP! DM me if you can help a brother out! 😬

Gary's copies are held up in US customs, so I'm going to push the release date back a week until 1st April. BUT... The tapes are going up on my store today as planned, for you to pre-order, and they will ship this week, in time for release date. Phew!

The meat-heads are back !

Back in 2015, the very first Solid 7 Records cassette release was my own band, Speedpig. Those cassettes are long out of print, and Speedpig have spent the last 7 years festering away in the trough of forgotten heavy metal...

Speedpig, aka Gaz and Mungo, aka "a couple of meat-heads" (according to one reviewer), have unearthed a forgotten, unreleased Speedpig EP, which of course we are going to unleash upon the world!

I've spent the last 5 days trying to process the sudden death of Mark Lanegan. I've tried to avoid social media mostly, as I just couldn't handle reading the endless torrent of obituaries.

I don't really have anything much to say. What can I say that hasn't already been said? I always pictured Mark knocking out albums into his twilight years, like a Cohen or Cash. At least he has left us with a huge catalogue of music to enjoy, difficult as it may be to listen to right now.

Since discovering Mark's music in 1998, he has been an enormous part of my life, and without doubt my favourite artist. He will be greatly missed.

Nothing else to say, apart from thanks, Mark.
