House Of Fun Radio House Of Fun is an award nominated radio show that broadcasts every Friday from 9pm on PCR 103.2 FM. He has even been featured on BBC 6 Music's Adam & Jo Show.

House Of Fun is an award nominated radio show that broadcasts on PCR FM (Peterborough City Radio) every Friday from 9pm to midnight. It is produced and presented by Matt Rowbottom and Pete Hawkins. They both write, record, edit and produce all the features themselves and hand pick all the music. Matt is a professional freelance sound engineer (www.facebook.com/atticaudio) and has many years of rad

io experience. He starting to produce and present his own "radio" shows as a child and first broadcast at the tender age of 12. Pete is a railway engineer, does stand-up and has been a comedy writer for the likes of website Newsbiscuit, BBC radio show Newsjack and Sir Terry Wogan's weekly BBC Radio 2 breakfast show. The boys first met at LifeChurch (www.facebook.com/lifechurchpeterborough) where they both got involved with a project called Comedyhead. House Of Fun was born out of a personal love for radio, music and comedy and is named in honour of the song from one of Pete's favourite bands Madness, (Obviously!). House Of Fun started broadcasting during November 2013 as part of Radio Peterborough's 1 month RSL and has been with them ever since. It can be heard by asking your smart speaker to "Play PCR FM", at www.pcrfm.co.uk, via TuneIn or on any internet radio receivers. Winning Moves UK, an official MONOPOLY maker, is producing the brand-new MONOPOLY: Peterborough Edition board game, under license from Hasbro, a leading toy and game company. Winning Moves UK makes MONOPOLY editions for cities all over the world, including in glam cities and regions, such as Palm Beach, Dubai and The Hamptons!!

“Our research shows there’s far more glamour to Peterborough than meets the eye and we expect to be wonderfully spoiled with choices when putting this special edition board together,” says Yasmin East, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK. “The city is incredibly green and that has been a factor for us in the past when making our choice of which city to grant a MONOPOLY edition to.”

In selecting Peterborough, the Winning Moves UK Team said a variety of factors were considered when producing the game, including: ‘Pride,’ ‘Sense of Community,’ ‘Glamour,’ ‘Environment Custodians,’ and ‘Heritage.’ East added, “Peterborough fits the bill perfectly for us.”

Peterborough saw off some BIG name cities across the world to land its own game this year, including Rio de Janeiro, famed for its scorching Copacabana beach and Christ the Redeemer Statue, as well as Chicago.

“It was a very close call,” said Ms East. “A huge congratulations to Peterborough.”

Seven other cities were in the 10-way race to ‘Pass GO’ this year.

In all, 30+ Peterborough landmarks and favourites – like Peterborough Cathedral, where Catherine of Aragon was famously laid to rest, the University and football club – will be showcased in the game, replacing the likes of ‘Mayfair’ and ‘Park Lane’ from the classic MONOPOLY original.

In the game, the property sets will be themed in genres, from heritage to leisure, arts to business, entertainment to education, shopping to sport, and lots more.

The quartet of train stations from the classic MONOPOLY original will take on a ‘travel’ theme. That’s because Peterborough doesn’t have a multitude of main line train stations to select from like in the original board game. This set could include the city’s bus station and Peterborough’s much-loved and lauded ‘Green Wheel.’ Alternatively, the ‘Green Wheel’ could feature on a green square.

The Chance and Community Chest cards will be customised as well. One card could advance players to the Peterborough equivalent of posh ‘Mayfair’ (the board’s top ranked space), which may very well be Peterborough United FC. Why? Because the League One football club, riding high this season, are famously nicknamed ‘The Posh.’

Over the last 30 years, Winning Moves UK has produced select official versions of MONOPOLY all over the world, from Palm Springs to Phuket and Dubai to Dublin. Now, the dice are landing on Peterborough.

The public is invited to suggest Peterborough landmarks to feature on the famous MONOPOLY spaces, as well as suggest the wording on the Chance and Community Chest cards.
Suggestions can be made in two ways:
1. By email to: [email protected] and
2. Via the official MONOPOLY: Peterborough Edition page.
Nominations will be accepted for consideration from 10.30am on 2nd February 2024 until 11.59pm on 15th February 2024.

The MONOPOLY: Peterborough Edition game is scheduled to hit shops this October, in time for Christmas (2024).
