After looking into the latest usage trends and spying on competitors *cough* TikTok, Instagram are trialling a full screen version of the main feed, creating a completely immersive display for the user...👀

With Reels being a big focus for Instagram, it makes sense that they would be testing out this style as it completely compliments displaying them within feed content. 🎥

It is believed that although initially stories would be kept in the same place, that these would also eventually move into the same section, so that all Instagram content would be displayed in one continuous feed.

With that being said, here are a few reasons why you should consider TikTok advertising as part of your strategy:

1️⃣ Currently, it is the channel with the most growth with the audience changing from being a very young demographic, to now containing large numbers of people from every generation.

2️⃣ It's currently very cost effective as it is a newer player in the game, and with the chance to get in front of millions of new customers it's a no brainer!

3️⃣ Because of it's delivery, your brand would appear on 100% of the screen and will deliver music and audio to match the visual content - which is much more immersive for the viewer.

4️⃣ Great way to make your advertising look more native, so people don't necessarily feel like they're being advertised to.

Instagram is constantly evolving, looking to make the user experience better for all whilst also allowing businesses to target prospects effectively 🚀

It's imperative that you stay up to date with these changes in order to influence your marketing strategies.

The four main changes that are expected to roll out this year are:

1️⃣ Different view options on the home screen which will allow users the ability to change seamlessly between home, favourites and following. Two of these options will give people the chance to see posts in chronological order 🙌🏼

2️⃣ Yet another push for video content. All videos will be kept in the same place (reels, IGTV, feed videos), as Instagram try to continue the switch to a more video focussed platform than imagery. If you are adding anything to your social strategy this year then it must be a mixture of long-form and short-form video for social.

3️⃣ If you are expecting to make misleading claims, use stereotypes or exaggerate the results of a product/service then think again as Instagram is getting stricter with unethical marketing, so make sure you're being as genuine as possible and always keep in mind that you are putting out content for real people

4️⃣ Subscriptions for creators. These will allow creators to monetise and become closer to their followers through exclusive experiences; lives, stories and badges which will mean that people pay to see subscriber-only content.

I'm sure it's no surprise that if you own or manage a hospitality business then your venue needs a strong social media presence.

With so many platforms at your disposal, it's best that you hone in on one to begin with and absolutely kill it.

Our advice, would be to always start with Instagram as it's the most visual, versatile and a place where millennials especially get for places to eat, drink and stay.

Don't just stick to posting great pictures on your feed however, you need to also take advantage of:

👉🏼 Stories
👉🏼 Location Tagging
👉🏼 Advertising

We're not bitter, we promise but if that person is an experienced social media marketer or a whole marketing team then that is IDEAL - there is nothing better than a well oiled machine when it comes to the development, posting and optimisation of social media. ✅

However if you are trying to grow a brand aggressively by getting a junior intern to:

▶️ Develop the content: Take photos, record videos, create branded graphics

▶️ Distribute: post these across Facebook, Instagram, Stories, Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn etc - all with different requirements and benefits at the perfect time that your audience will see

▶️ Optimise: Get your products or service out to the masses by running adverts in the back end of all of the above social media which once again are all different in the way to set up, implement and scale (with different costings attached may we add)

Then we hate to say it, but I think a look at your 2022 marketing strategy is required.

Today we talk about the difference between two key metrics, CPC and CPA ⬇️

CPC stands for cost-per-click and within social media advertising, this would mean how much it costs to get someone to click on your ad 🖱

CPC is helpful when assessing the amount of traffic your ads are driving towards a specific target/landing page and how much this is costing you!

CPA on the other hand stands for cost-per-acquisition and this is a vital statistic to monitor within your campaigns. As the name suggests, this statistic will tell you how much it costs to acquire a new customer 🤝

You can use this to see if things are working when it comes to your margins and if the campaign is profitable or not! 💸

Keeping in mind the marketing funnel when developing any sort of campaign is a necessity and will help guide you in the right direction in terms of the type of content you want to hit your target market and when 🎥

It can be quite difficult with your business social media profiles to keep on top of it and make sure that your posts are consistent, engaging and on brand. 🤯

When you first start a profile, posting every day is at the forefront of your mind, but after a while and when other areas of the business take over, it can easily be pushed to the side and left dormant for months. ⏰

We don't recommend scheduling posts as a consistent way of running your social media. It can take away spontaneity and engagement from your business, as sometimes you can forget when posts are going out, so if prospects and customers interact then you are slow off the mark to respond - which isn't a great look. ☝🏼

We do, however, recommend this if you're looking to keep an online presence for your profiles and keep them ticking over as whenever you have spare time, you can schedule for days, weeks or months in advance ✍🏽

The best option of all (of course we're going to say that) is to outsource your social media profiles to experts who deal with the development and posting of posts every single day and can not only keep your profile ticking over, but also help it thrive 🚀

1. Prompt Your Audience | If you're looking for more likes on a post, then use a line such as "double tap if you agree." More comments - '" let us know what you think below." Sometimes your audience needs a little bit of a nudge to interact and including lines such as these can make a massive difference

2. Speak To Your Ideal Customer | Using language that will resonate with your target audience is a given, but also use what else they may be interested in or what memes are popular at the time to gain some inspiration. This will usually yield more shares or comments as people connect with it and wish to share it with others that may think or feel in a similar way.

3. Create Shareable Content | If creating any type of long-form content or content that just takes a bit longer to make, it's important that you pre-strategise and consider what would make it as shareable as possible in order to reach a larger amount of people!

There are many different reasons why having a Pixel on your site will take your advertising from zero to hero very quickly:

1. You can track your conversions, meaning that if someone makes a purchase after seeing your Facebook/Instagram ad, you will be able to see how much this cost you vs how much you made from the sale

2. Ever been followed around the web by that outfit you added to the cart and then decided against? Yeah, us too! This is called retargeting and it is incredibly effective. Having the Pixel on your website makes retargeting possible!

3. You can create custom audiences off the back of your user data. If you want to target people who have visited your website within the past 10 days or people who have made a purchase in the past month - you can!

4. By using the customer data you have within the Pixel, you can create lookalike audiences from this. Lookalike audiences will generate an audience similar to that of your current in order to try and appeal to a new audience with similar interests...

Can't seem to keep ahead of posting on social media for your business? 😫

You need to implement a social media calendar! 📅

But how, I hear you ask...

1) Set a goal and work backwards - for example if you want to get someone to your website, what type of content would be best to use to get them there?

2) Look at using a range of different topics, that may not necessarily be based on your business. These could be motivational quotes, national days, blog posts, company announcements etc.

3) Write it down! Use a Google spreadsheet, or take it back to the old school with a pen and paper and plan what type of content you're going to post, to what channel and when.

4) Schedule in advance. There are so many tools out there to help with your scheduling, so you can plan in an hour once a week to schedule all of your social posts for the week and then leave it to work its magic!
