As it is, we’ve only played for a couple of 10 minute periods in the game so far and haven’t taken control of the free ball Forest gave us. We’re a similar kind or sluggish to last week. Its a good opportunity to keep putting our fans mind at ease with FACTS, throughout this process.

A lot of noise has been made, by low level journalists on Twitter and via a couple of rags that other clubs ie Burnley, Leeds and Sheff Utd are planning to “sue” us on the back of the Premier League’s point deduction.

This is crystal clear bu****it. Quite simply, the 4 accusations made by the prem in no way have benefited Everton on the field.

Charge 1: Sigurdsson’s fee/wage bill caused an overspend
Answer: Sigurdsson didn’t fulfill more than half of his contract and was banned by the Prem prior to any court ruling over him, thus leaving Everton out of pocket, short of a key player and with NO GAIN ON THE PITCH.

Charge 2: Everton where advised to sell one of their key playing assets in the next available transfer window in order to keep meeting the premier leagues financial special measure placed upon Everton.
Answer: Everton DID NOT BENEFIT ON THE PITCH as neither club nor player wanted to make the transfer. Everton received a cut price fee from Tottenham who where aware of our plight and need to do as we were told. Leaving Everton with NO GAIN ON THE PITCH.

The other 2 charges where related to finances surrounding the Stadium and as such has no relevance and therefore leaves Everton with NO GAIN ON THE PITCH.

They can’t sue us for something we haven’t been charged with by the Premier League, who themselves admitted we gained no advantage from any of their charges. Finally, every Prem club signs a contract which states they cant enter lawsuits against another team ib the league. It’s utter bu****it. Don’t believe it.

There’s nothing independent about a panel employed and paid by the Premier league to do their job.

• Everton’s reasoning for overspend with stadium finances was of a direct result of the war in Ukraine, meaning capital was harder to secure during this time and with a bigger interest rate than previously.

• Gylfi Siggurdsson only completed 1/2 of a 4 year deal, meaning the money we spent on his wages should be adjusted to reflect that in our net spend. Something the Prem didn’t consider.

• Richarlison was sold by Everton against both the clubs wishes and the players in order to balance the books under guidance from the Premier League themselves. This wasn’t taken in to account.

• Everton’s net over spend is 9.2m over what it should have been. This in comparison to the potential hundreds of millions over from Man.City, Chelsea and god knows who else.

Each of those bullet points are the 4 subjects to which the Prem based their points deduction on, all 4 points wouldn’t stand up on a proper court of law with a defence and group of lawyers we’re likely to bring to this appeal. The Premier League in a last ditched, vain attempt to show the UK government they are able to manage their own regulations. This is a great example of them not being able to do so and instead trying to bully one club for the mistake that probably 50% of clubs have already made in seasons gone by. Not only is this 10 point deduction frivolous but its an absolute stain on the game in this country. The game needs a new governing body.

We absolutely deserve to be ahead in the game. Hard to understand where VAR see the sufficient contact to enable Eze to throw himself to the floor like his ma bought him a lpool shirt for Christmas. He should of been booked for the first dive and was rightly booked for the second. Superb start to the game from us, we’re so effective when we go at teams. Need to be a little tighter at the back, but we’ve got opportunities in. attack to come in the second half, plenty enough to win the game.

There’s absolutely no doubt the manager’s decision making around his substitutions lost us the 3 points. Thought we’d seen the back of bladdering the players until the 80th minute before making a sub. It was plain and simple to see in the second half they were on par if not better than us, as the half goes on they start to run us ragged. In the period between the 60th and the time it took us to make a sub in the 88th minute, Brighton had made 4 subs, ultimately changing the game in their favour even more. It’s total mindlessness from the manager to watch a 39 year old Ashley Young get out ran for 30 mins of the second half and leave him on the pitch with Patterson on the bench. Bringing Beto or Danjuma on around the 65th minute gives us fresh legs and impetus to stay in control, add that to Patterson coming on too and you keep a good defensive shape, freshen the legs up on the side of the pitch they were attacking. It was beyond poor management yesterday and Dyche’s comments about it being a point gained is total bo****ks when you’re leading for that long in a game at home you were comfortable in at one stage. Feeble decision making in the end.
