International Brass Band Summer School Announces 2024 Attractions 🎶 🎺 ☀️ 🌊

There is plenty on offer at the course in Swansea in 2024!! 🎺🎶☀️🌊🏖️

The International Brass Band Summer School has confirmed its list of tutors who will lead the course at University of Wales Bay Campus, Swansea in 2024. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The IBBSS course, supported by Geneva Musical Instruments attracts international delegates from across the banding world, and will run from 29th July to- 3rd August under Music Director Prof Nicholas Childs.✨

The delegates will once again benefit from the expertise from world class tutors, Richard Marshall, Tom Hutchinson, Owen Farr, Brett Baker, Gary Curtin and Matt Routley.🎶

“Speaking to 4br direct — Sun, Sea and Brass brings people together to enjoy, as well as challenge, themselves in a fantastic holiday atmosphere. You attend as a delegate and leave as friends”.

Congratulations to our Music Editor - Philip Harper 🎉👏🏻

FOR HE’S A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW👏

Congratulations to Cory Band Musical Director Philip Harper who it has been announced is to become a Fellow of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

He will join four other leading artistic figures in being presented with the accolade at the RWCMD's graduation ceremony on Friday 7th July at St David's Hall in Cardiff.

Everyone at Cory is super proud of his achievements and delighted he has been recognised with this prestigious honour ❤.

This piece was originally composed for a 12-part trombone choir in 1965 and was adopted by the Stan Kenton Big Band, one of the most forward looking jazz groups of the 20th century.
