Here's JC, usually more at home behind the camera than in front of it....he's getting back on a bike for the first time in three months, so not the best conditions.

In his words: ' I'm a little worried about riding again, heading into London on Sunday, so I'm doing a little ride to get back into the swing. The BMW F900GS is ace BTW.'

Anyone else taken a little break and itching to get back on two wheels??

It's full on launch season and earlier this week we were testing Kawasaki’s updated Z900.

They’ve tweaked the motor and chassis slightly, while giving it a new electronics suite that covers everything from an IMU with improved rider aids, to a new TFT dash with connectivity and voice activation. Yes, you read that right…

It’s £9,199, which puts in in the ballpark for a sub-litre naked… but in a similar price bracket to Honda’s CB1000 Hornet.

Wet, wintery riding.....

Been to Suzuki HQ to swap the GSX8R for a VStrom800RE. They're not being reviewed by RiDE but by the Mike, Editor of sister publication Bike.

It's great to get chance to try different bikes and for me, the upright riding position of the VStrom suits me, sir...but maybe it could also because the screen offers a modicum of protection from the mizzle.

Anyone else out riding today??

As an aside, the reception area at Suzuki is pretty interesting....

I've spent the weekend in Portugal testing the 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp. It has a new dash, switchgear and face, which isn’t much on the face of it, but there are a handful of tweaks that make a significant difference to the way it rides.

Suspension mods (firmer at the rear, plusher at the front) has given the Honda an extra dash of sportiness. Handling is superb, especially for a bike with a 21in front wheel. It’s also comfy, easy to ride, punchy and a lot of fun. It’s an impressive piece of kit.

That's my first test of 2025, dans le sac.

New 15bhp Kove 125R is a mini super naked with a single-sided swingarm, underslung exhaust, colour dash and radial brakes. Tops 70mph downhill with a fair wind and costs just £3499. It isn’t the cheapest of its Chinese rivals, but costs way less than any sports 125 from Japan or Europe.

We've been to Uttoxeter for the Women In Moto event today. It's aimed at getting more women into motorcycling, with taster rides for complete beginners through to test rides on the latest Honda and Zero test bikes. There's also skill sessions with the local police.
