The new government has a real task ahead of it to clear up the mess caused by the previous Conservative government’s economic vandalism, but they have already made some serious mistakes.

Their cutting of Winter Fuel Payments will leave millions of pensioners without the support they need this winter and their misguided NICs hike will only see people’s weekly shops become even more expensive.

The government needs to finally see sense and reverse these short-sighted decisions or people will continue to suffer.

NHS dentists and other health and care providers must be exempted from the Chancellor's tax increase.

Without reversing the hike, the government's plan to rescue our health service is a plan in name only.

It’s shocking that this careless decision has been taken with no regard to the impact it would have on NHS dentists.

Many will have no choice but to cut services and staff numbers.
