Please book early for our Family Fun Days!! Tickets are now available on our website.

Do you fancy the whole day at the farm, building rockets, making dens, crafting, playing giant outdoor games, cuddling guinea pigs and pendulum painting (very messy)?

We are running two of our popular Family Fun Days on 7th and 21st August, for only £5 per adult and £5 per child. You get to spend the day having fun, enjoying your picnic lunch and then you get to take home all the things you have made.

Spaces are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets available on the website www.askefield.co.uk.

This little fella is a weever fish. They burrow beneath the sand in warm weather, mainly at low tide.

If you stand on one, it will sting you with those little spikes on its back. It will usually look swollen, slightly red and you might have a couple of “puncture” marks.

It can be really painful but isn’t too serious most of the time.

To treat it, put your foot in the hottest water you can handle for 30 minutes (be careful not to burn yourself, gradually heat it up). If you show any signs of an allergic reaction then call 999 straight away.

We have facilities at our lifeguard units to heat up water to treat weever fish stings so come and see us if you think you’ve stood on one!

Enjoy the sun… safely ☀️😎🧴💧⛱👒

Dear Mum and Dad,

Let me stay home. It's too hot for me to walk and run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to.
And feel my paws burn.
I'm looking at you for a moment, but you do not understand. Because in a little over 5 minutes we're at the cool puddle, right? But those little 5 minutes
can be fatal to me. Because I sweat through my paws, and in this heat I just cannot get rid of the sweat. My whole body is boiling, but I keep going
And then I end up on the tarmac. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes flashing in the sun. My paws are burning, my
tongue is dry and my head is pounding in the heat that my body cannot get rid of…

Instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of cool water, somewhere in the shade. And best of all like in a cool area with grass.
Love Your dog.x

If you can't walk barefoot then why expect your dog to do it?

We have very exciting news!!
Avocets have bred at Anderby Marsh Nature Reserve for the first time. 😱 🎉🤩

When Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust first bought Anderby Marsh in 2010, it was partly grassland and partly farmed for arable crops.🌾

However last winter, a new sluice was installed thanks to funding from the Environment Agency. This sluice has allowed water to be held on site for longer encouraging wildlife such as avocets and lapwings.

Another fantastic example of what we can do when we make space for nature. 💚

*A safe conclusion to Police activity in Lincoln: Thank you for your cooperation and support*

On 7 July we received a call from a member of the public, who reported seeing a man carrying what appeared to be a long barrelled weapon on Clasketgate in Lincoln. A search commenced, drawing on the expertise of our colleagues in CCTV. Footage was reviewed and a suspect identified.

A warrant was executed on the evening of 8 July at Clasketgate, to which we deployed armed officers. We were also assisted by the National Police Air Support Service (NPAS).

A 29 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of a class A drug. A second man, aged 45, was arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.

The firearm was recovered and we now believe that this was a deactivated weapon and not capable of firing.

We would like to thank local people for their cooperation and patience and also our colleagues in CCTV and NPAS for their support in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion.

A special mention for the member of the public who called this in initially and gave a meticulous account. Thankfully, on this occasion we believe the weapon was deactivated. It could have been a very different story. The decision to call us could have been life saving. Always call us if something doesn't seem right and let us do our job in protecting the County.

Incident 290 of 7 July refers.
