Happy 25th birthday (plus a couple of days) to my BURNING AIRLINES t-shirt which I got Upstairs at the Garage on Dec 4th 1998 when BxAx supported Braid. Were you there? Shirt's still going strong but on closer inspection, it is getting battered. I ducked out early from the gig to go to my friend's birthday rave thing at Camden Palace. Maybe you were there too.

New EP streaming now on the platforms you enjoy!

We'll be doing a run of tapes to celebrate. Vinyl would have been nice but jeepers it is expensive right now and we have a few things in the works.

It has been about four years since we had some sweetly hefty yet melodic black metal infused d-beat s**t from England's oldest city. Congrats to them for getting this done! The art, the title... all beautifully subtle I'm sure you agree.

HOZOMEEN - The Void LP out now!!!

Busted out the missus' orange turntable and a fancy chair to make my first ever IG story because the Hozomeen LP is out right now so go check it the heck out. Can't thank Graham enough for trusting me with this, they turned out real nice.

played a track today at around the 28 min mark. I should have thought to make the Fall comparison myself. Many thanks to them and anyone else who has reviewed or bought it!

Hubert Selby Junior Infants tape not here just yet but you can go ahead and order that too. Also just received an absolute skipload of distro stuff but not listed it yet so maybe check back later if you have some money knocking about.

INSECT WARFARE - World Extermination LP

Got one of these knocking about. A lovely, loving reissue by the best punk label around on blue smoky vinyl. I can't believe it's 15 years old, it is just as psychotic and fresh as ever. Not to be rude about Nasum but they did beget a host of bands that are just a bit tooooo precise. Insect Warfare are definitely deadly precise but have tons of punk grit which makes it more human, and also actual catchy riffs. Just the best. Imagine playing this s**t in the Texas heat too!

Also posting a pic of the CD I got back in the day from which I am hanging onto for some reason. The white jewel case tray was an editorial choice of mine which looks cool I think. I saw them play in London around that time at Vice's pub. It was heaving, the original singer had quit a few day before they flew over and the guy from Ergon Carousel didn't know any of the lyrics seemingly.

DOME RUNNER - Conflict State Design CD

It's 2022 and I am buying CDs. Things have come full circle. Could be explained by this sounding straight out of the 90's, and I don't mean to do this a disservice as it really is a beautifully satisfying, crunchy homage to industrial metal, totally on a Godflesh, Nailbomb, Fear Factory and/or Pitchshifter tip.

I was never much into this style at the time, but now I'm seemingly more open to it. Kind of weird how retro this sounds whilst trying to convey the future. Or something.

Got some stuff in from Psychocontrol Records out of the Czech Republic. Every time I write that name I put Psychotherapy, they should change their name back.

The main one for me is the new NAK'AY LP which is an absolutely wild bit of grinding chaos, beautifully rough sounding and tightly performed whilst still retaining a lot of humanity. DURIAN is a newer release and totally shreds. RATO TRISTE are named after a Corrupted song and sound like their early stuff, I love it. Anyway it's all good.

Just plopped out as a simple CD release by good old when they weren't the format of choice, this absolutely stands up 14 years later. A coruscating wash of harsh guitars atop mean rhythms. Beautifully unhinged.

RUE - s/t CD
Not a classic but a lean, mean, early 00's half hour of sludgy hardcore power that hits the spot more often than not so I'm hanging on to it. Pretty sure I did a trade with Shifty Recs back in the day and got tons of goodies by the likes of Rammer, Boulder and Fistula (who got a lot gnarlier after their Shifty phase). Feast Of Tentacles did a vinyl version of this. Scott Stearns did a lot of art for this label, always cool stuff.

Sad to say auf wiedersehen to this one but I have the tracks on the discog CD **k_yoga_records put out. It took me until today to learn the title means "Temporary Annihilation". This band never f**k about, there's nothing over a minute here, you can just about make out the riffs and they've been grinding for over three decades! All hail too but you should be doing that anyway.
