Hagg Farm
Emergency crews were called to a farm In-between Cawood and Biggin on the outskirts of Sherburn in Elmet at around 11pm 18/10/2024.
Specialist fire officers were supporting crews at the scene overnight as the blaze ripped through agricultural buildings at Hagg Farm, off Hagg Lane.
Smoke, flames and a distinctive orange glow could be seen for miles around as the fire raged through the night.
Crews from Selby, Tadcaster, York, Huntington, Acomb, Easingwold, Malton and Garforth responded to multiple agricultural buildings containing straw and animals on fire.
Crews surrounded the fire using hose reel jets and main jets to begin extinguishing whilst other crews assisted the farmer in moving the animals to a safe location.

House fire MP x 8 and ALP x 1 - Proved to be a fire in a row of terraced properties, with possible exposure risk and fire spread to a further 5 properties. All persons were evacuated from the house involved prior to arrival of the fire service with persons also being asked to leave neighbouring properties to ensure their safety. Nine properties were evacuated with local residents being advised to keep windows and doors closed and stay away from the area if possible. Fire crews used, 5 Hosereel jets and 4 Breathing apparatus sets. Initial investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing by specialist fire investigators and Leeds District CID.
Appliances from Leeds (2), Moortown, Hunslet (2), Killingbeck (2), Stanningley, Mirfield ( Hose Layer and Support Pump), Wakefield (Aerial Ladder Platform), Dewsbury (ALP Support), Morley, Featherstone (Command Unit Lite), Morley along with CLM vehicles, Supporting officers and Fire Investigation.

Canal Mills fire in Armley, Leeds has been confirmed as being of doubtful origin and so an arson investigation has now started into the cause of the blaze. The derelict building saw a large fire service attendance including assistance from North Yorkshire Fire and rescue.
