Bethel Street, Brighouse
Building Fire - Proved to be a dry cleaners involved and on fire with approximately 20% of the single storey building alight . Building measured 10m x 20m. Firefighters used 2 Hosereel jets, 4 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire along with positive pressure ventilation fans to clear smoke.
Appliances from Rastrick, Cleckheaton and Huddersfield attended.

Emergency services are currently on the scene of a significant house fire in Leeds this morning (14/11/2024). The incident occurred around 9:30 AM on Selby Road in the area of the city.

Sandmoor Drive, Alwoodley, Leeds
Large derelict property fire, roof 100% involved. 40m x 30m in size. 6 fire engines and 1 aerial plus supporting resources and officers currently in attendance dealing with the incident. Defensive operations were adopted to tackle the blaze.
Appliances from Moortown, Cookridge, Leeds Aerial Ladder Platform and Pump, Killingbeck (2), Rawdon, Bradford, Mirfield Hose Layer and Support Pump, Stanningley, Supporting officers and CLM attended.

02:15 (15/11/2024) Update - 3 fire engines still in attendance using 2 ground monitors. Fire investigation still ongoing.

🚨 Multi-Agency Training Exercise 🚨

📍 Royal Infirmary, A&E Department
📅 Friday 8th November
⏰ 8:00am - 1:00pm

This is a planned multi-agency training exercise, so please don’t be alarmed.

You may see people outside the A&E department dressed in hazmat suits and increased number of emergency service vehicles, including fire, police and ambulance.

There is no risk to the local community and no impact on A&E services.

Please note: The road that runs alongside the A&E Department will be closed to traffic during the training exercise. Traffic Marshals will be on hand to direct people to other car parks at Royal Infirmary.

Wyke Lane, Oakenshaw, Bradford
Road Traffic Collision - Proved to be 2 vehicles involved with 1 casualty trapped in a vehicle. Firefighters freed the trapped driver who suffered serious but non life threatening injuries, he was then taken to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the Land rover was given 1st aid by the roadside before being taken to hospital by ambulance also. The road remains closed whilst Police conduct enquiries at the scene.
Appliances from Odsal and Cleckheaton attended.

Atley Works, Dalton Lane , Keighley
Building Fire - Proved to be a MP x 4 and ALP x 1 incident. Fire involved a building approx. 70m x 30m used as a welding and engineering company along with an adjoining derelict property. The fire involved 20% of the roof at the front of both buildings. Access was gained by shutter doors in Dalton Lane and fire crews used 2 Ground Monitors, 2 Hosereel jets and an Aerial Ladder Platform jet to deal with the fire. Dalton Lane was closed off whilst the incident was dealt with, this has since reopened. A good stop on the fire had been achieved preventing a more serious fire developing.
Appliances from Keighley, Illingworth, Ilkley, Cookridge, Silsden and Huddersfield (Aerial Ladder Platform) attended.

West Royd Road, Windhill, Shipley
Shed Fire - Proved to be a MP x 4 incident for Breathing apparatus. This was a Large shed in the r rear garden of the property with fire spread to the property. Firefighters used 2 Hosereel jets and 8 Breathing apparatus sets to deal with the fire. No persons were reported to be involved and crews remain at the scene damping down and pulling out debris from the collapsed shed.
Appliances from Shipley, Bradford, Bingley, Fairweather Green and CLM vehicle attended the incident.

Old Spinning Mill, John Street, Batley
Building Fire - Proved to be a three storey derelict mill, approx. 100m x 30m. with 50% of the property involved in fire. This was off the main Bradford Road between Batley and Dewsbury which remains closed between Mill road and Town Street. Heavy amounts of smoke were issuing from the building with occasional flames being seen. Firefighters used defensive mode tactics mainly to tackle the fire and used 4 Large jets, 2 Hosereel jets, 8 Breathing apparatus and Aerial Ladder Platform monitor.
Crews are most likely to remain at the scene dealing with this incident into tonight. The public are being reminded to avoid the area and keep doors and windows shut.
Appliances from Dewsbury (2), Ossett, Mirfield, Rothwell, Hunslet (2), Leeds, Huddersfield (Pumps and Aerial Ladder Platform, Bradford ( Aerial Ladder Platform),Featherstone (Command Unit Lite), Otley (Hose Layer and Support Pump), Normanton, Morley, Odsal, Fairweather Green, 5 CLM vehicles and supporting officers along with a Fire investigation officer.
