Great opportunity for someone wanting to get into youth work or a career working with young people.
Amersham Youth Activities have an exciting opportunity for some new youth leaders to join our summer team! After an incredibly difficult 18 months for young people we are on a mission to give young people the opportunity to socialise, learn new skills and get out of the local area.
Originally started in 2011 the summer team was a program of diversionary activities designed to lower youth crime during the summer holidays. 10 years on our focus has expanded to include all young people in school years 6 – 11. We are looking for youth leaders to run trips, provide provision in and around Amersham town and give opportunities for young people to volunteer and engage with their local community.
This is a 20 hour contract based over 3 or 4 days per week with an hourly rate of £10/hour. Although the contract is over the summer holidays (July 21st – September 3rd) for the right candidate there is the opportunity to continue working part time in our youth centre in the new school term.
Think you’ve got what it takes to change lives this summer? You must have experience working with children or young people, a current DBS or be eligible for one and be available over the summer holidays. A full driving licence and a first aid certificate would be favourably looked upon.
Apply now by sending a CV and a covering letter to [email protected] – applications close on Friday 25th June.
Your Responsibilities Over the Summer
