Dive into the excavations of this extraordinarily well preserved Greek merchant ship, built around 315 BCE.
Its hold was full of Rhodian transport amphoras and its cabin pottery was also mostly made on Rhodes, which was probably its home port. Its trade route ran between Rhodes, Cyprus, the Levant, and possibly Egypt. This volume includes a detailed history of the excavation of the ship, as well as the most important objects for determining the date of its sinking.

Cyprus was a thriving late antique province and, contrary to previous belief, its prosperity lasted long after mid-seventh century raids on the island.
This volume includes discussion of topics as varied as rural prosperity, urban endurance, artisanal production, civic and private religion and maritime connectivity. The role of the imperial administration and of the Church is touched upon in several contributions.
Together, these contributions from both historians and archaeologists produce a comprehensive impression of what life was like in Cyprus in the long late antiquity.
