Today I’m tired and sniffly and all I want to do is catch up on I’m a Celeb and watch old episodes of Scandal.

The good thing is that I have a lovely boss who has said that’s no problem, you can get some work done from the sofa today (clue - the boss is me ☺️)

But it does also mean that if I don’t write my social media posts, or put together a newsletter or record a reel, then nothing is going to go out.

There’s no harm in having time off of course, but it’s always a reminder that If I don’t write the content, no one else will.

I talk about batch creating alot but knowing you have a bank of content always ready to go whenever you’re feeling tired, stressed or you just want to take a day off is worth it’s weight in gold.

If you’re finding it hard to write that content try and schedule a date in your diary to sit down and get it done.

Have some notes to start with and set a timer to help you focus.

Writing several posts in one go helps you get into the flow of it and be more productive.

We’ve been away this weekend reviewing another dog friendly accommodation and I told myself I wasn’t going to do any work.

For this season I’m changing the saying ‘throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks’

To ‘throwing a pumpkin in the air and seeing what lands’ 😂🎃

Are you just testing things out with your content, having a go and seeing what works with no plan on strategy, just instinct?

Good.

That’s probably where your best content ideas are.

We can have a tendency to over plan, over perfect and over analyse everything to the point where we never share anything at all.

Have some fun with your content, test and adapt and see what works. Throw the pumpkin in the air and see what lands with your audience.

The best ideas can be the ones that came from those moments where you thought - lets just see what happens!

If you’re struggling to create ideas for your content, this should help!

It’s from my Christmas Content Workshop in The Best 90 Days Ever group, but I wanted to share this here with you too.

Often we spend so much time trying to come up with new ideas, we end up not posting anything at all.

But the truth is, reusing the same idea over and over in different ways is a good thing.

It means you’ll be known for that, and it’s great if you are a product business or in a launch because you can talk about it in different ways without boring your audience.

Start at the top with one theme or topic.

It could be your product or it could be a theme like ‘email marketing’

Work your way around the cycle by starting with a bigger piece of content like a blog post and using it in different ways.

The aim is that by the end of the cycle you will have had conversations, comments and replies from your audience that help you create your next theme so it can start again.

If I was doing this I might start with email marketing and as I go round hear lots about consistency, so that becomes my next topic to discuss.

Nope. But you’ll always wish you did it sooner so it’s a good idea to get started today!

Last week I was asked - what advice would I give to someone who was looking to start email marketing? My two top tips were…

✉️ Research GDPR before you begin so you don't end up wasting time collecting emails you can’t use
✉️ Create a simple landing page so you can start getting people on that list in minutes, not days (or weeks, months or years)

If you don’t have time to research GDPR or you have absolutely no idea what a landing page is or how you would create one, I’ve put it all in my email newsletter course.

It’s called The 5 Day Newsletter Fix because it was originally held over 5 days but now it’s recorded so you can access it all in one go and complete it in an afternoon if you want to.

Mission complete in 15 minutes 😂

Today ended with a brilliant one to one marketing session with a new client and we managed to get to the root of the problem in 15 minutes. A record I think ☺️

Sometimes it’s not hashtags, reels or even consistency. It’s getting to the bottom of what you need to do to move forward with your marketing and promoting your business.

With this client we figured out how to create a passive income strategy and action steps on how they are going to promote it. I’m going to be checking in after the session to make sure it’s moving forward too!

I’m terrible at promoting one to one sessions ironically, but if you want quick, actionable progress in 15 minutes (and then another 75 after that) then get in touch!

I love a pumpkin.

This is my favourite season which means we have loads of pumpkin content (and costumes 😂) and I love to bring them out each year.

One of the members of The Best 90 Days Ever asked about seasonal content in the group yesterday and I thought it might be useful to share more about it here.

Seasonal content is great because…

🍂 It connects with how your audience feels right now
🍂 It shows you are active and posting content that’s current
🍂 It’s a good way to make sure you’re regularly updating and checking your website
🍂 It’s fun, enjoyable and it can help you show more of your personality

You can add seasonal content to your marketing…

🎃 On your website (product and service based businesses)
🎃 In your newsletters as images or graphics
🎃 As the image on your blog post (this is great when you share them on social media too)
🎃 In your social media content
🎃 In any videos that you do such as reels, lives or TikTok
🎃 On your physical marketing tools like flyers and leaflets
🎃 In your offers - how can you link them to the season we are in?

I don’t need any excuse to get my pumpkin costume out, but creating seasonal content across the year is really helpful for setting yourself goals and checkpoints.

Try it over the next few months and see how you get on!
