🤷🏻♀️How do you feel about losing your post likes?
Instagram have been chatting about removing likes for quite some time, but Covid-19 got in the way and the initiative was postponed.
The reason behind the move (or ‘remove😊) is of course to help reduce some of the pressure that Instagram can bring, especially given the picture of perfection that we often see.
🗞In the last few days, Instagram has officially confirmed the launch of a new test period enabling users to choose if they want to display post Like counts or not.
🧪Previously, they tested hiding like counts for a small group. Some liked not having them and others missed them, so the latest thought process is to let us choose what’s best for our accounts, such as:
>hiding Like counts on others’ posts
>switching off Like counts on your own posts
>keeping full Like counts as per the current experience.
Full details haven’t emerged yet and we still don’t know when this will happen, but they have revealed that there will be similar testing on Facebook too!
🙋🏻♀️Do you think removing likes can make a big difference to reducing peer pressure or comparisons?
It depends a little on how you see them – sometimes for me a like can be a symbol of support, agreement, appreciation…and also I wonder if we will still be able to see the likes within the Insights if turned off?
👉🏻Would you be a turn-off-the-likes-er? Or a keep-as-is-er?

🤷🏻♀️ A FULL WARDROBE BUT NOTHING TO WEAR.
We all know what that’s like, don’t we?
I indeed have a very full wardrobe (or maybe 2 or 3 🙋🏻♀️, but usually feel like I’ve nothing to wear...
👩🏻💻It’s a bit like having nothing to post, but lots of existing content sitting on the laptop.
🧐Don’t feel you always need to create content from scratch. Original content doesn’t always mean NEW content. You can still create original content from something that you previously created.
👇🏻
Start with having a look at the content you already have on your laptop or phone. Can you use it again? Can you chop it up, edit it? What else can you do with it?
Some examples:
📖A blog that you wrote last year.
Take a good look at it and pick out a few quotes. That’s a couple of new posts already.
Are there paragraphs in the blog that could be the basis of a good Instagram post?
📲Your photo gallery on your phone.
Scroll through your photos. Hands up who has more than me? Errr 59k - need to sort that out!
There’s definitely going to be something in there that can be used on your grid. Create a new album so you can pull any useful ones into that for ease of use.
🗂Previous Newsletters
Look through the topics you have shared and see if there’s something you can put onto LinkedIn today with a tiny bit of editing.
🕹Testimonials
Revisit your reviews on Facebook, Instagram, Google and create a post with even one sentence from a testimonial. In a few weeks, you can use another line from that testimonial. And by the way, you can also note down what people say about you at meetings or in passing. These are also testimonials and another few posts for you.
💾Your old social media posts
Obviously don’t post anything from recent times, but go back a year or two and see If you can reshare something.
It’s like recycling content which saves a bit of energy always thinking up the new - always good in my book. N

Typical!
Fully prepared.
Good nights’s sleep.
Kids safely in Daddy school.
And then the hair from he**.
Had to tame it with a hat just before being thrust into the spotlight.
I think I should introduce a behind-the-scenes gallery. I certainly have plenty of them. Do you? Tag me in your faves. We all need to laugh right now.
For the record, I spoke about Branding on Social Media & how errrr First Impressions are critical. I made sure no would ever forget me then, didn’t I?! 😂.
Will share more about it tomorrow when the hair is calm.
