Did the South Koreans shoot themselves in the foot? Or did they hand the Russians a major boost to their air defense capabilities? It all depends on the perspective on who actually gained the most from the technology exchange.

In 2011, the South Koreans started developing the KM-SAM or Cheon Gung I and II medium ranged air defense system with Russian assistance. The South Korean firm LIG Nex1 partnered with Russian missile systems design bureaus Almaz-Antey and Fakel to jointly develop the entire KM-SAM system including the missiles themselves and their associated radars and command and control systems. It's reported that the Koreans were largely only responsible for the local command and control (C2) system development and integration of the completed system into the South Korean air defense network while the actual development and province of the missile and radars were entirely Russian technology that was sold to the South Koreans.

Later on, the Russians were reportedly so impressed with the capability of the KM-SAM, that they developed an entirely local version, the S-350E 50R6 Vityaz for their own use. The Russian version has different C2 systems and radar but use largely the same missiles as the version sold to South Korea. In this way, thanks to South Korean funding and instigation, the Russians gained a new air defense system for their own use.

The South Koreans have openly made the claim that the KM-SAM was designed for the modern battlefield in mind and hence it's radars and C2 systems was designed to be virtually immune to current electronic warfare systems and techniques in use. If that is true, it stands to reason that the Russian S-350E Vityaz version would be at least as capable as the South Korean one as the Russians had a major hand in the development of the radar systems in the KM-SAM and would no doubt have implemented something similar in their own indigenous version.

It's hard to believe that the Russian military would accept something less capable than what their state owned defense companies sold overseas and to a Western country with close ties to the Americans. Looking at it backwards, we can also say that it's unlikely that the Russians would have sold the best technology they had to a close American ally and a country where the system would be operated in close proximity to American SIGINT groups. It was the very same argument that the Americans had used to try to dissuade the Turkish government from buying the Russian S-400/SA-21 Growler SAM which would be operated in close proximity to American systems and is made by the same company that developed the KM-SAM/S-350E Viyaz.

And now, with world opinion turning against the Russians, as well as witnessing the overall poor performance of Russian technology in active combat, are the South Koreans regretting their choice of Russian technology for their air defenses? Or does their ever desperate need for new weapons to defend themselves against their crazy relatives up North override all other concerns? 🤔

The political treatment the South Koreans got from the Americans were also very different. While the Americans infamously kicked up a fuss when the Turkish government bought Russian S-400/SA-21 Growler SAM, they have said nothing and turned a blind eye over the Koreans use of a Russian SAM. No doubt in exchange for technical information which would be put to good use for countering the Russian S-350E Vityaz version. 😜 ~Clorox.

I laugh when I hear some people complain that they don't understand Wizkid's MIL album.

Listen up!

The album wasn't originally recorded for Nigerians.
You were not part of their target audience in the first place, because they know that you must stream it whether it's cool or not. If not, how did you know that the album is not cool?

For the records, there are 195 countries and 7 continents in the world.
China alone has over 1.4 billion people, India has 1.2 billion while Nigeria's population is estimated to be around 200 million.

Now, out of the estimated 200 million, only 109.2 million Nigerias had access to the internet as of January 2022 and a good number of them are still using 3G, also the high cost of data in Nigeria is another minus.

Out of the 109 million internet users, what percentage stream music?
Out of the percentage that stream music, what percentage are premium users? Excluding Audiomack users.

Have you wondered why Wizkid's management had to pull down MIL from Audiomack?

Like I said before, the secret to longevity in this industry is to keep evolving.

Wizkid is one artiste that has outlived his time and for him to keep being relevant, he had to evolve.

How do you expect Wizzy to keep doing the kpakoromo kind of sound when the likes of Ckay are raking in 15 billion streams on Tiktok alone?

The truth is, NOT ALL STREAMS ARE EQUAL.
The platform from which your music is streamed influences how much you will likely earn per stream.

The revenue you generate when a UK or music user streams your music is different from what you get when an Indian, Swedish or Nigerian apple music user streams your song.

In the UK, Spotify premium is priced at £9.99, which is the equivalent of $12.22

In France, Spotify premium is priced at F9.99 which is equivalent to $11.31.

You don't need a prophet to tell you that artists will most likely earn higher when their streams come from the UK and France, than when it comes from the US, India or Africa.

In Nigeria, the very few streaming platforms like Boomplay, YouTube music & Apple music are priced at N900, less than $2.

In as much as it's wise and good to build a large home audience, which Wizzy has done already, it's important that you pay attention to where the real bag is.

You should know that the album was released in collaboration with RCA Records.

RCA Records is an American record label currently owned by Sony Music Entertainment and these people are serious businessmen who pay attention to numbers and not your emotions and sentiments.

For those of you that always wonder why the likes of WizKid, Burna and Mr Eazi have decided to operate from the other side of the world, this might be the answer to your question.

Wizzy has evolved, deal with it.

Visit Mayvibe.com to sell your music on the platform and also distribute your music across 100+ digital stores including Spotify Apple Music Deezer YouTube boomplay Tiktok Etc, and get paid in Naira.

Modified version of Russian Su-30SM carrying a tactical 244N nuclear bomb. this aircraft is carrying a 244N tactical nuclear bomb, and the training bomb of the same type is codenamed IAB-500. . Flanker uses a heavy duty pylon at the back of the belly to carry this nuclear bomb. The explosive equivalent is still unclear, but it is definitely not small. The Soviet military also used nuclear bombs as main attack weapon in air defense combat. That is, while using electronic systems to cover the enemy's full band interference, it dispatches MiG-25BM combat attack aircraft with nuclear bombs to quickly pe*****te defenses and The enemy’s anti aircraft missile system deployed at the forefront and to open a safe passage for the subsequent fleet. .
