Alliance Homes Social Media House Rules

We have a number of social media accounts we use to share information about our services and venues, as well as information from partner organisations. We want to keep you informed and provide you with accurate information about services and events in all the regions we operate in. We also expect social media users to offer us the same level of courtesy and

manners which we offer them. Please always remember that the people monitoring our social media are human beings too. If you’d like to message us about any service request please do so via a direct message. That way we can keep any personal information private. You can also contact us through our website or by calling us on 03000 120 120. We want our social media channels to be safe spaces where people can share ideas and have open, useful and healthy discussions. To help this, we’ve got some social media house rules which we expect all social media users who are interacting with our accounts to follow:
• all users must follow the terms of use of that social media platform as well as our own house rules
• we will remove in part or completely posts and comments we consider to be inappropriate or discriminatory against any individual or group
• you are wholly responsible to any content you post including content you share
• we reserve the right to remove content and report and/or block users on our social media channels who post messages we consider to be:
• disruptive, abusive, obscene or inflammatory
• personal attacks
• deceptive or misleading
• hate speech –such content may be reported to the police for further action if necessary
• in violation of any intellectual property rights, including copyright
• in violation of any law or regulation
• spam and off-topic content (persistent negative and/or abusive posts which aim to provoke a response)
• commercial or endorsing a particular product or service
• publicising anyone’s contact details or other personal information

We will not tolerate abusive comments, posts and messages. We will block and/or report anyone who repeatedly engages with us using content or language which falls into the above categories. We must be politically neutral on social media which means we are unable to endorse or engage with any content of a party political nature. If you want to discuss political issues please contact your local councillor. If you believe you have been unfairly treated on our social media accounts, you can report this to us through our complaints procedure.

Bristol Water is working to fix a damaged water main in Nailsea. Residents in Nailsea, Clevedon, Wraxall, Claverham, Portishead, Clapton-in-Gordano, Weston-in-Gordano, Portbury and Yatton may experience no water or poor water pressure. Bristol Water are delivering bottles of water to priority customers and setting up collection points. All properties should now be back in water.

As your water starts to return you may notice it coming out looking a yellow or brown colour. If this happens, please run your cold tap, closest to the mains coming into your property, for up to 30 minutes and until the water runs clear. Please do not run further taps in your property as this could cause issues/damage. Water supplies are continuing to return to homes and businesses as expected.

Due to the time of night, we’re stopping bottled water deliveries and closing down the water station in Nailsea.

UPDATE: 19:30

We have started to return customers to water!

Our teams have now refilled the reservoir and have recovered the water systems, so we have started to get water back to customers.

Clevedon’s water supply should now be returning, which is due to be followed by Nailsea. Water will then slowly make its way around the network, returning water to all of the other affected areas. Thanks for being patient whilst this happens.

As your water starts to return you may notice it coming out looking a yellow or brown colour. If this happens, please run your cold tap, closest to the mains coming into your property, for up to 30 minutes until the discolouration clears. If anyone needs water in the meantime, we have a water station setup at: Scotch Horn Leisure Centre Brockway, Nailsea, Bristol BS48 1BZ. Please be mindful of traffic and other people, if you decide to collect water from the leisure centre.

We will continue to repair the damaged pipe and provide further updates as they happen.

UPDATE: 17:30

Our teams are well underway setting up two water station locations, one in Nailsea and the other in Clevedon. We will confirm the full details of these as soon as they’re set up. We’re also currently assessing further options for additional locations.

Whilst our teams are working incredibly hard on setting up these stations, please try not to approach them and keep a safe distance for health and safety purposes.

We're continuing to deliver bottled water to all of our 1,600+ priority service customers, and we really appreciate your patience.

We’ve started to deliver bottled water to our Priority Services customers, starting with the most vulnerable.

Water station locations are being arranged and volunteers are being mobilised to man the stations, so that you will be able to collect free water. We will provide you an update on the location of these stations as soon as it becomes possible.

We will continue to update you on the progress of the repair when we know more. Thanks again for your patience.

UPDATE 14:15

Our crew are still on site and working hard to assess the damage caused to the water main and organise the repairs.

We will be delivering bottled water to our Priority Service customers, starting with the most vulnerable. Our staff are currently collecting the bottles and will be making deliveries. We will also be setting up water stations where customers will be able to collect bottled water. We’re in the process of mobilising all of this and working as quickly as possible.

We’ve had confirmation of damage to a water main in the Nailsea / Backwell area. The damaged main is affecting a local reservoir so we are working to isolate the damage and repair the main.

Properties in the following areas might experience no water/poor pressure due to the damage:

Nailsea / Clevedon / Wraxall / Claverham / Portishead / Clapton in Gordano / Weston in Gordano / Portbury / Yatton

You may notice contractors installing protective netting around the solar panels on some of our properties. We’re doing this to protect the homes, solar panels, reduce the risk of significant build-up of pigeon droppings, minimise noise and respond to customer feedback.

Our full-accredited contractors, NBC Environment are a British Pest Control Association member, and prioritise the safe removal of nesting birds before installing the protective netting, but in some cases, a few birds, nests and eggs may be missed.
