It's the last writing workshop for History in the Making this Saturday! Book a free ticket and spend a couple of happy hours capturing glimpses of your life in Worcester, to add to our upcoming anthology, exhibitions and eventually... the Worcester Archive for future generations to uncover.

You don't need to be an accomplished writer... you don't even need your own pen... but you do need to book a free ticket!

History in the Making is a year-long programme of creative activities celebrating Worcestershire’s rich heritage and the voices of underrepresented communities.

We'll be at Cheltenham Literature Festival tomorrow. Come and pick up our LGBTQ+ anthologies for free and watch performances from some of our poets.

We're at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival tomorrow with our Standing Proud Writers' Group and our Ssh-OUT! writers. We've got performances from 12 of our brilliant poets and plenty of free anthologies to give away. 11am-12 on the Huddle Stage in the Feast Café area in Montpellier Gardens. It's completely free and unticketed, so come along if you can. Thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund for their generous support in funding our courses and the production of our anthologies.

SoftLads - an exciting new writing and publishing opportunity! For a new project that'll be publishing in the new year!

Free creative writing workshops with visual artist, Oliver Bliss and Holly Winter-Hughes of The Word Association CIC – exploring gender, identity and self-worth through Oly’s new art series

For the past two years, Oly has been creating a series of tapestries focusing on portraits of tattooed males to explore male identity. Oly would like to invite you to experience his work for yourself, and with our guidance create a poem or piece of writing in response to the work and the themes explored. These pieces will be curated into a new anthology, which will be out in the new year. The workshops will take place from 12-3pm on Saturdays 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th October at Henry Sandon Hall, Worcester, WR1 2NE. You are welcome to attend all four sessions, as we’ll be focusing on different elements of the work. Likewise, if you can only attend one session, you’d be very welcome. These workshops are open for anyone, no matter your level of writing experience. The workshops will allow you the chance to experience the artworks, talk to Oly about the work and explore the themes from the work through a series of gentle writing exercises.
