I have transferred hundreds of wedding video tapes over the years and mainly ones from VHS/Betamax and camcorder tapes. However this is a first, here is a wedding video recorded on a Sony CV tape in 1970!!

Just running off some problem U-Matic tapes which I have been baking for a few days. The bake has been successful and they are now running very well indeed. Not bad for early 80's tapes that have been left for decades!

Just picked up this 1972 Philips N1500 VCR. I’ll be opening it up in the next few days and hoping it’s not too rusty and corroded inside and that the video heads are ok!

Ive just received this Sony AV open reel machine and it looks almost mint. The heads look brand new!
I’ll be looking at the tape path tomorrow and then running a tape through it.

I have been dealing with some mouldy and sticky Video8 tapes these last few days, but finally finished the job. The problem with Video8 and mould is that because the tape is so thin, they easily tear, so each tape I have had to carefully hand wind. It's a repetitive strain injury sorta job, but someone's gotta do it ;-)

Just cleaned up a U-Matic VP-9000P and it’s playing back beautifully. No drop out at all! And don't 1970’s 625 line 2 inch video tape recordings look the absolute business!

Here are Starsky & Hutch watching back a Sony AV3600 open reel video machine in 1975. It's the NTSC version and of course, on that monitor, should be in black and white and not colour.. :-D

Does anyone have any of these type of open reel video tapes tucked away in a cupboard, shed, loft or attic they don't want?

I have video equipment that can playback this type of video tape, so if you have any that you need transferring, please get in touch.

These stills are probably from the earliest known recordings of Ceefax pages anywhere in the world. I found these on an open reel Shibaden video tape and as far as I can ascertain, going from the Sheffield United V Charlton football match, date from 23rd October 1972.
