Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lone Wolf Pictures Ltd is currently in development of a major high-end historical TV drama serial. We are looking for up to 2 freelance researchers to join the production / development team for an initial period of up to 10 weeks. These roles will involve doing a deep dive into certain British history of events in the 1980’s. We are looking for researchers who can ‘find’ the stories and the people to help meet the ambition of this inspiring TV project that will hook the audience from start to finish.
If you enjoyed or even worked on shows like, The Crown or Chernobyl, then this production will be of interest to you.
Specific tasks and duties are as follows:
• Helping spot and tell great true-life stories with real people, real places, real events.
• Conduct research as per requirements laid out, but you will be responsible for widening sources of information to provide as much accurate information as possible.
• To instinctively be able to ‘find’ the best contributors, experts, authors, people and stories relevant to the subject, understanding what makes the highest quality of Historical TV Drama.
• Delivery on a day-to-day basis of accurate proposals and research briefs which should be presented in writing and verbally in a succinct, clear way. You must be able to condense down large amounts of information and present findings clearly and instinctively. Must be detail orientated.
• Responsibility for accurate record keeping at all times.
• Hot on internet research tips.
• Keen to help generate ideas.
• Understand the importance of and need to maintain editorial and legal compliance.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Must have prior film or TV researcher experience ideally on a major TV Drama or Feature Film (with 3 past credits)
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate understanding of professional TV research techniques
• Interviewing skills would be a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language. At least one of the two roles may also require high proficiency in Spanish language speaking and translation.
• Must be able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• Quick to adapt to subject. Interest in modern British history a plus.
• Ability to work independently is a must as well as to carry out assignments to completion and within the parameters of instructions given
• Must be well organized and rigorous in research.
• Good computer proficiency (including Zoom/Google Hangouts proficiency with MS Office – WORD and Outlook)
• Education to degree level.
Physical Requirements:
This job will be predominantly working from home / remote, although must be available to attend meetings in
London as reasonably required.
Expectation to work 35 hours per week, although we may consider flexible working arrangements.
You must have your own computer with internet access, Zoom/Google Hangouts proficient with MS Word/Outlook.
