Harvest From The Deep Harvest From The Deep is a new printed magazine. First issue now sold out! Second issue due September 2015

Harvest From The Deep magazine is born out of sport, fashion, music, and anything else we turn to in order to escape the mundanity and stresses of working life. The title is an interpretation of how, historically, people have drawn upon the depths of the land and the sea in order to live and survive. Whether through fishing and shipping, or through mining and agriculture, and all of which we see i

n steady decline. There are no strict rules at Harvest From The Deep, we will feature our national game at all levels, likewise with music and fashion, and we are open to talk about, review or feature a wholesome and healthy mix of topics by our team of writers and from guest writers, on anything which we think will be of interest to you. Some of the profits generated from sales will go to help our local non-league football club North Shields FC, and we will also contribute to a charitable organisation called checkemlads.com - which was set up for testicular cancer awareness and support. Thank you for coming here, we hope you will consider purchasing our first edition, and we hope you nod in agreement in places, and feel informed or inspired in others. You can let us know your thoughts here or on twitter

Seriously the best festival i've attended in the UK. So much to enjoy in fantastic surroundings. There are still a few tickets remaining, the stage is inside, the chats and readings are in a magnificent castle nearby. Krankenhaus Festival is in the middle of The Lake District. Also worth noting the superb artists performing, with the inclusion of Hector Gannet on the Saturday, around 1pm. North Shields very own J***y Brown, head honcho of Band Of Holy Joy has some solo material out, including this lovely song about a bird that many take for granted. Maybe the pigeons in 'the square' had a subliminal influence here when J***y was younger.

A song by J***y Brown Cyanotype animation directed, edited, printed and animated by Inga Tillere. 1980 handprinted frames on paper made from disposable cups. Musicians:…

What a great event in North Shields at The Exchange 1856 and brought about by great work from The Engine Room, North Shields and North Shields Cultural Quarter . The amazing, iconic and groundbreaking work of Don Letts will be seen and discussed with the man himself, plus he's DJing as well. Not only that, but original founder member of Dexys is performing live and a very cool author chatting and reading from highly regarding music related books. Hats off!

The North Shields Cultural Quarter is supporting an exciting event celebrating Sub Cultures at The Exchange 1856 on Friday 10th May.

💥 Special Guest Don Letts will doing a full DJ set!

There'll also be a showing of his brilliant documentary Two Sevens Clash, Dread Meets Punk Rockers, followed by a discussion. Taking part in the discussion & performing live on the night is Pete Williams, founder member of Dexys & Dexys Midnight Runners.

Plus Author & Journalist Nige Tassell, will be talking about Whatever Happened To The C86 Kids?, as well as giving a sneaky preview of his next, top-secret book.

Brought to you by The Engine Room, North Shields.

Already got this by Hector Gannet, but highly recommend the CD for the last single The Minute Hand which a a number of bonus tracks on, almost a mini album. Bargain.

Hallo. It's Bandcamp Friday tomorrow, when the proceeds from any purchase you make at bandcamp.com go direct to the artist! Lovely stuff eh. Perhaps the ideal time to let you all know that the 'Last Smoke Before Sail' CD is available. A very limited run (and we're keeping some back to sell at the show at The Green Room, Stockton, on Saturday, 🎟 remaining tickets available at hectorgannet.com)... It features some brand new songs in their earliest recorded form, as well as some alternative versions of older favourites, and apart from 'The Minute Hand', these recordings will not be released digitally. Head over to hectorgannet.bandcamp.com from midnight tonight to grab a copy! ✊️

Returning after their triumphant set at Coast Fest earlier this year, local legends 𝐇𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐓 take to the stage as main support to Badly Drawn Boy on Sunday 23rd June. ⁣

It’s great to have the lads come back for a second year running, after supporting the mighty Sam Fender at St James Park and touring America, Hector Gannet solidify their place as one of the best bands in the North East. ⁣
They aren’t bad at football either, winning our first ever Coast Fest cup back in November ❤️⁣

Day passes are already selling well, so it won’t be long until they are completely gone. Head over to Skiddle and search ‘Coast Fest’. Don’t miss out ❤️⁣

Get in⁣
