The inception of Phantom Records began in 2009 when Thomas Maher, songwriter/producer and founding member of British rock band Emerald and subsequently British Rock/Metal act Mean Machine, realised that if you want the job done - do it yourself! In 2014 - 5 years later and a lot more experience to hand, Phantom Records was officially unveiled... Having first hand experience of the music industry

aligned with its enormous challenges, obstacles and pitfalls that Musicians & Artists are faced with on a daily basis, ultimately became the driving force behind Phantom Records evolution... Sadly, there are many great Artists & Bands who remain anonymous or stifled due to an inability to market themselves or who continue to fall foul to the ever present Industry Vultures... We accept that we can't help every band or artist out there but for everyone that we do - we make a difference and that difference can often be heard and seen through the eyes and ears of many people across the globe! We vehemently support Independent Artists & Music and will continue to fly the Independents Music flag... However, we are not a Record Label and do not work with people to make them Famous or Rock Stars! While we do provide many services and operate in a similar fashion to conventional Record Labels - our main objectives are Artist Development, Recognition & ultimately giving Artists and Bands a platform and more importantly a shop window to establish themselves from... Our Moto is quite simple when it comes to music - Good is not Good enough! The music market is highly competitve and the modern Independent Artist or Band has to have the collective wit of a Manager, Agent, PR, Marketing, Social Media, Publisher, Lawyer, Plugger and somewhere in between a Musician! Nothing short of serious hard work, commitment and luck will bring you success in anything you decide to do - music is no exception! Talent alone won't get you very far but with talent and hard work combined, the only limitation is you! One of the first questions we always ask bands or artists during consultation is what they believe is the most important factor to having any form of success? Is it music, image, video, live performance, social media followers? None of the afore mentioned is the answer! The Plan however is, and has to be your number 1 priority! Whether it be good, bad or ugly, having a plan, sticking to it and putting in the time, effort and expense when needed is the only way you'll see results if going it alone. Even a bad plan will have some success if you stand behind it, so imagine what a good or even great plan can achieve? Be a Brand, Not a Band! One last bit of advice, as a DIY artist your plan should be target focused and you should aim to spend as little time and expense for maximum results! Think out of the box, don't be afarid to take risks and be different and most importanlty learn from your mistakes and move on! Having only launched in 2014, we've already had some great success with many of our artists productions that have resulted in features on MTV, the BBC, ITV & Sky Sports as well as placements on Rock Band - Xbox, Wii & PS3 Nintendo... Additionally, our productions have been playlisted and aired on hundreds of radio & internet stations worldwide...

Another epic Whitebasement pod has dropped this morning folks! Joining the enigmatic Jason Mo in studio this session was the one and only - David Soames who is the Co Creator of Time The Musical, trained as a classical actor, is a prolific writer and song writer. He has written for Cliff Richard and Freddie Mercury among others and has recently released the song 'Today, Tomorrow, Forever' celebrating the life, work and music of the late great Freddie Mercury. He joined me in the studio to share the story of how Time became a hit musical, writing for the greats, musical history, life stories and memories of being with some genuine Musical Legends. Some

Another episode of the Whitebsement Pod has dropped and todays fascinationg episode features Leon Sua, a man who is testament to the philosophy that you create your own luck and you make your own opportunities. Starting out as a Martial Artist, then a doorman as well as an 'Oriental Extra' Leon started a fight team with some friends and somewhere along the way found himself being called in to join the League of Shadows in Batman Begins! He's performed stunts in No time to Die, Fast 6, Rogue One and many more. Leon joined me in the Studio to talk Daniel Craig losing his s**t on set, getting Head butted by Tom Hardy and being set on fire while Jonny Depp hid under a table. From getting stuck in a minefield in Croatia to teaching elite kids Judo and from running a successful BJJ Academy to working close protection, Kev is a fascinating guy, with a great deal of life experience and practical ability. Softly Spoken and understated you can sense the high level of ability carefully concealed under the surface.

Another epic episode from Whitebasement Jason Mo Phantom Records has landed! With mental issues at an all time high - this is an installment of the podcast not to be missed!

Having suffered with mental Health challenges over many years and hitting Rock Bottom more than once Eddie found JiuJitsu which helped him to find meaning that he had been missing and change his life.

At the start of 2023 a serious knee injury took Eddie off the JiuJitsu mats and having always wanted to do something to help other people with Mental Health issues Eddie took the opportunity to start OpenCorner - a charity he has set up to provide people with mental health issues access to JiuJitsu, MMA, boxing and kickboxing sessions, free of change as a supplement or alternative to other therapies.

As Eddie said sometimes you're so low you can't even talk to somebody but being able to go to a place where people know your name and have some physical contact and companionship could make all the difference in the world

OpenCorner is a huge project with even bigger implications for our beloved Jiujitsu and wider society. In its early stages Eddie needs support from the JiuJitsu Community to get it up and running. He announced the GO DATE on the show, so listen in and PLEASE do share this episode with EVERYONE.
