Gosh isn't this just humbling and the most wonderful community sprit. Over 300 people have clubbed together in the last 24 hours to help Lee and Lou, Landlady and Landlord of The New Inn in Buckingham get back on their feet after the awful flooding at the weekend. We love Lee and Lou and really hope this money can help.

There's only £750 to go to reach the £10,000 target - can you guys dig deep and help in anyway?

We are trying to raise some funds to help Lee & Lou of The New… Peter Edwards needs your support for Lee & Lou, Landlord & Landlady of The New Inn, Buckingham

Wishing a very happy 20th birthday!

As many of you probably know, we’ve been swimming with Water Babies for the last 8 years and it’s been such a huge part of our journey. They have taught all three of our babies the important water safety skills that every child should know and how to swim safely and tread water.

Here’s to the next 20 years and more and thank you for the best baby swimming lessons around. We really love it! 💦

Also a special shout out to Karen pictured here with Millie this morning. She really does make our lessons so much fun.

If you want any more information about please DM me and I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have ☺️

Cluedo 2🕵🏼‍♀️

Last night we were lucky enough to be invited to the press night of Cluedo 2 at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

Following the success of the first stage show, one of the nation’s favourite boardgames has once again been adapted into a side-splitting story. Cluedo 2 is the latest whodunnit to hit the stage at .theatre You get to witness your favourite characters come to life as they find themselves in the middle of a murder mystery – but the biggest question is, who is the culprit?

We meet Rockstar Rick Black who is in the midst of recording a new album for his band, which he hopes to be a hit with their fans. When Rick is found murdered in his study with the knife, the rope, the candlestick, and the wrench, the mystery ramps up. Some of the characters in the house have good intentions, while others don’t. We watch as the bodies pile up and we are taken on a twist-and-turn story to discover who really murdered Rick and why.

There’s some famous faces in the cast too including JASON DURR(Casualty, Heartbeat, Midsommer Murders) in the role of Colonel Mustard and last years strictly come dancing champion in the role of Miss Scarlett. A big hats off to the entire cast of Cluedo 2 for being fantastic at bringing each character to life and for playing an important role in bringing together the comedy of the piece.

If you’re in need of a good laugh and a wholesome night out this week, I cannot recommend this show enough 🎭

Tickets are available from Tue 22 – Sat 26 Oct 2024
Tue – Sat 7.30pm, Thu and Sat mat 2.30pm
Prices start from £15 (plus no booking fee)

Today the fair comes to town! Oh and next Saturday too! Growing up it was always one of the best weekends of the year!

Did you know that the Buckingham Charter Fair has been a town tradition for centuries, with its origins dating back to a charter granted by Queen Mary I in 1554, and a second charter given by Charles II in 1658. These charters mandate that the fair must take place on a Saturday.

A full road closure will be in place to ensure the safety of attendees and allow the fair to operate smoothly. Market Hill, Market Square, and High Street will be closed to traffic until 6am on Sunday, with parking in these areas suspended. The town centre bus stop will also be closed until 6am on Sunday.

The Town Mayor, Cllr Anja Schaefer, will officially open the fair at 1pm today, accompanied by the Town Crier, Patrick Laws. A special hour between 1pm and 2pm has been set aside for local disabled children, who will have free tickets to all rides and sideshows, generously provided by the Nichols Brothers. The fair is then open to ALL from 2pm onwards.

Have the best time if you get to go! 🎠🎡🍭✨

My lovely friend Sophie from went to review Awful Auntie at .theatre for me last week and it sounds like they had the BEST time. Check out her review below:

Wow - what a mesmerising show!! Awful Auntie had all of us hooked. Crammed full of a brilliant mix of drama, belly laughs, suspense and fantastic set changes - it really had it all. In truth, none of us had read the book before seeing the show, but it really didn’t matter. This is a fantastic stage adaptation of the David Walliams book. The cast, although only 5 of them, were amazing and filled the stage with brilliantly acted characters. The children were so engaged throughout, with genuine laugh out loud moments.

Our Story

Like many small business owners, my husband Neil and I (Laura) had a plan when we launched Community Contact Magazine, to help contribute towards our wedding in 2015. The very first pilot magazine was created in December 2014 and was just delivered in the village of Twyford.

We have always been passionate about supporting local businesses and wanted to create something that these businesses, small, medium or large, could all use to market themselves to the local area. The pilot was a success, so we decided to create a bi-monthly magazine that would go out to Buckingham, Winslow and the surrounding villages and that would bring the community together, hence our name – Community Contact.

After we got married, we soon went on to have our first baby (we love a busy life!) Whilst on maternity leave I made the decision to create a lifestyle that didn’t conform to the standard 9 to 5, but to work around being a mum, enjoying those early times with our little boy Archie that you just don’t get back if you miss them. Developing the magazine with a more manageable work / life balance was always an aim and I wanted the time and flexibility to create a magazine which champions local businesses, in particular offering small business owners an affordable, supportive platform to reach their customers.

Our magazine now goes out to over 8,500 homes in Buckingham, Winslow and many of the surrounding villages, with an unrivalled advertising rate accessible to all. We have recently launched our new website that has it’s very own business directory, a parent hub, articles, recipes, competitions, offers and much more.
