Global Movement HOME: A curatorial research platform examining the relative positions of object | image | gallery

Home is a project that works both on and offline to explore
the space between the virtual and the physical realms, and
interrogate/question the role of the gallery within a
post-internet culture, in order to stimulate a dialogue
around the future of the traditional exhibition space. Each new exhibition or commission will show both physical
and virtual works, encouraging artists to consider th

e role
of each in relation to the other, and how that influences
their own creative practice. Home will focus on emerging
themes in contemporary art practice, particularly with
reference to the digital realm and its implications in
terms of audience and authorship. Launching both online and at BV Studios gallery space as
part of the Bristol Art Weekender, Home will host a series
of exhibitions, peer group critiques, and other live events,
in a bid to create an ongoing discussion around art,
digital culture, and how these relate and respond to wider
contemporary culture.
